Forums - Nintendo - If NoA doesn´t give in and localise Xenoblade/TLS for North America, I ask you..

oh...well you be correct, only beacuse these developers couldnt pay for it....but if they could they still would.

but yea.. I cant really see anybofy else..maybe KONAMI just becuase there funding  tri-Ace 2 games and I cant see why they would say yes to tri and no to sakaguchi...maybe SEGA and Namco Bandai too just becuase they still show a interest in developing JRPG's.

I think you made a bad assumption in this thread, because you might not notice the difference between Tri-Ace and Mistwalker. Mistwalker needs another development group to make a game, while Tri-Ace is efficient on their own. Also I think if Nintendo did not pick up Mistwalker game, and Monolith Soft, both organizations would have been merged with another development team, or completely gone. My evidence is what was happening to Monolith Soft until Nintendo really started funding projects (Baten Kaitos). Another supporting argument is that if Mistwalker could recieve funding from different organizations we would not see The Last Story, instead we would have actually seen Cry-On (which I was so hyped for).

Also Konami isn't willing to invest in Suikoden 6, what makes you sure that they would be willing to invest in Mistwalker. Also SEGA and Namco Bandia, are really annoying at localization as well (Yakuza franchise just got lucky and looks like 7th Dragon and VC3 will not being coming over). However I do agree Nintendo of America are jerks, but Nintendo as a company most likely saved these two groups.

Also my original response was much better, but this site died, and now it is basically smaller version of what I wanted to say, and it is all over the place.

Agreed with the above post. Nintendo's funding help keep both of the development teams in business. Don't let you hate for Nintendo right now cloud your common sense. There are only 2 3rd party companies that are still seperate over there Capcom, and Konami. Everyone has merge with another so these smaller groups would have been gone or lost in a merger. The real point right now has nothing to do with Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower. The main issue is NOA has no core titles for the NA market right now. In 2011 so far we have gotten Mario Sports Mix, and Wii Play Motion. With Mario Party 9, Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident, and Rhythm Heaven. There are also a new Zelda, and Kirby, but still the types of games are the complete opposite of the type of games that came out last year. If Nintendo had Star Fox, Custom Robo, F-Zero, and Pikmin for this year. No one would be asking for the 3 Japanese games. With those games not coming, and the current lineup we have presented to us. People are like why not give us those games over there. We will take those instead.

Nintendo has really only 3 options.
Make their systems region free so gamers can buy what they want no matter.
Keep their systems region locked, but release every game in every region.
Just be dicks, and don't care at all.

The last option is still given to them because no matter what. People are not going to stop buying your console not matter what they say online.
Microsoft sold a faulty system and people just bought new ones.
Sony sold a overpriced hardware, then a stripped down versions, took options away from people who had it, and finally got hacked and people info stolen. People still are buying PS3.
I highly doubt people will stop buying Nintendo consoles over 3 games that from the beginning. Where only made for one region.

As a gamer, and customer you have 3 options.
Buy a import console if those games are that important to you. "I did!"
Hack your current system to play imports "I did"
Get pissed and don't game on a Nintendo system anymore. I doubt this will happen.

Oh to finally answer the question Reggie is still better than both the other Companies US leaders combined. Would you really want Tretton running Nintendo Of America. Talk about being a stooge.

That happens because N64 and GC didn't have enough games that the market as a whole felt were worth buying, not because they were, on principle, pissed at Nintendo for this that or the other thing.

I mean, it's a cynical way of thinking, but it's true. Nintendo could do jack shit here, and we'd piss and moan, but most of us would still buy Skyward Sword and the Wii U. I know i for one would be disappointed, but it wouldn't effect my purchasing habit. If you have the games people like, they'll overlook the niggling issues, even if they're pretty severe. The superiority of Xbox LIVE kept people coming back to the ticking time-bomb that was the early models of the X360, and while Microsoft did make things better for themselves and for users by fixing the 360 as they did, it didn't really hurt them in the short run as consumers kept buying boxes that they knew had a shelf life shorter than a box of Oreos.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Firing Reggie won't solve anything. NoA as a whole needs to change.

Also, regarding the comments about Monolith Soft being better off without Nintendo, I remember reading a year ago or so an interview with Takahashi (I think) where he said something in line with XenoBlade being the teams first game ever where they truly could finish the game 100% without having the publisher cutting their budget or something. They were quite happy with Nintendo, in other words, and had they had another publisher chances are that XenoBlade just wouldn't be the game it is today.

You Americans should just hack your Wii's and import the games from Europe. That way you can give NoA the middle finger while still supporting the developers.

Wow, European gamers are receiving games that American gamers aren't, what kind of backwards universe to Nintendo live in?

thats true, but i know people that dont like the direction Ninty went with Wii n did not buy it, some people really hate motion control, but they r a minority

lol what? it doesn't matter if people want Reggie to leave or stay. its not like companies fire or hire people depending on what we customers want! lol

Reggie is awesome!
