War of the worlds ... that's a remake right?

It is, but you've obviously not seen the original, so I don't know what you're basing your opinion on.

The fact that it's old, so therefore must be shit.

I think I'd have a heart attack if I saw yout DVD collection.

Tell a lie, I like some pre 2000 horror like Candyman, Childs play, ect ect

You're my age though. If you were a tween I'd understand, but...

Yeach exactly, it was mid 90's at the earliest before either of us could really appreciate music and film

Yet that didn't stop me from appreciating older films.

"I don't understand how someone could like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, but not like Twilight!!!"

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

"If you cant stand the sound of your own voice than dont become a singer !!!!!"

I just find most to be overall rather poor.

Id' be interested in a more elaborated response. Certainly the golden age of cinema isn't the 00s. (I couldn't even write that without grinning )

This line of thought is beyond ridiculous. Oh well, that's the generation that we live in.

No, it's personal opinion.

Unfortunately what you're doing is not having an opinion, is generalizing. It would be fun to see your reaction a couple of years in the future, when someone tells you that the things you like and enjoy are shit because they're old to them.

Good for you, that must make it easier for you to label things as shit then. Myself, I tend to have a little more respect for older or recent movies. Quality is quality, no matter how old or how new is it.

That's just the thing, I don't see them as quality, from the dozens I've seen it's not image quality and special effects that put me off.

Let me ask you this then. What's the lack of quality of movies such as Metropolis, Gone With the Wind, Nosferatu, Wuthering Heights, A Tale of Two Cities, Citizen Kane, Little Women and many other of the best classics of all time?
