Unfortunately what you're doing is not having an opinion, is generalizing. It would be fun to see your reaction a couple of years in the future, when someone tells you that the things you like and enjoy are shit because they're old to them.

A lot of people think today's standards in film ect are shit, it doesn't remotely bother me. It won't in 20 years either ...

Good for you, that must make it easier for you to label things as shit then. Myself, I tend to have a little more respect for older or recent movies. Quality is quality, no matter how old or how new is it.
