Forums - Nintendo - NOOOO!: Super Smash Bros Wii U doesnt have a Blueprint or even a development Team :(

I'm thinking a late 2014 release, myself. Maybe for the Christmas rush.

Erm they did announce at E3 that pre-production was going to begin after Kid Icarus was released so i don't know why you are so surprised.

Well the 2005 announcement of SmashBros wasn't as big as this years. But considering the game was not in development when announced in 2005. We can come to the conclusion it took two years to develop. Of course since Sora will be making two versions they will need a much larger development team and more time and resources.

I suspect their will be a trailer in 2012 and a release in late 2013 early 2014. Not half bad. Also I think Nintendo wants Sora to grow and become a much more important developer then they are now. Obviously Sora wants to grow as well considering they suggested two versions. It'll be interesting to see if Sora lays off half the SmashBros team's or if they maintain the numbers and release a good game each year or so becoming one of Nintendo's bigger developers. Could Sora replace Hal?

but i thought people knew this :P

anyway guys a fighter would not take that much time to make anyway. its a fighter and the characters are known and what moves they will have and anything extra can be added to them when they come up with them. if they have say 30 of them they can assign one or two too 15 or 30 modelers that can make them in like what 10-15h? then give them to animators and so on.

the things that will take time are the environments. how they will look and what will happen in them and how the characters will interact with them.

i give this game 1 and a half year to 2 years maximum or maybe just a year depending on how big the team is

umm no, most figheters dont take that long to make, Street Fighter 4 didnt take that long to make and i can name a few others

Well I was basing it on the scope of the game and not trying to exaggerate how little time it would take to make it. So it was all on what I thought, not what I know but if you know then sure. The less time the better of course :)

So you think they can make it in less than one year?

in one year?? hell no!! Maybe if it were Capcom (the fighting masters) or even Namco, id say possibly. But Ninty??? IMHO, they should take all the time they need. It hasnt even started to be made yet. I mean, good crap. it took them 3 years to make Brawl and the game was still a little unbalanced and the online was terrible, what the hell they were doing that entire time, im still trying to figure out.

I don't know how sensated is to compare Smash Bros to fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken. They couldn't be more different, it's like comparing Sin & Punishment to Call Of Duty because they're both shooters. I think is quite more complicated to make things work in Smash Bros. In a game ala Tekken or Street Fighter you have to manage interactions beetween 2 characters on a rendering level, a collision level and on an AI level. In Smash Bros you have to manage interactions beetween multiple characters, passive and active objects, the enviroment all at the same time.

Not to be misunderstood, I don't think Smash Bros is objectivily a superior game, but It's just very different, not much comparable.

Are you ready for the daily tease for a whole year before release?

thats kinda of true, but its not like there making an original game from the ground up. SF4 is pretty much an updated version of Street Fighter 2, the core foundation is there and it works. No different than smash bros. Same thing with Brawl, there wasnt that much difference between that and Melee, I get that its a complicated game, but taking it that long to make and having the online turn out the way it did, is inexcusable

i wonder if they are planning on releasing both the WiiU and 3DS versions at the same time? and how similar they are going to be. i would imagine there will be big enough differences to have people want to buy both versions

After kid Icarus uprising is out then they will be focusing more on Smash bros Wii U and 3DS,

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

they pulled the same crap with Wii, so I'm not surprised. At least then, they had some other games to show off.

What's the diffrence beetween Sony E3 2006 and Nintnendo 2011 conference?

Sony at least had renders :D
