but i thought people knew this :P

anyway guys a fighter would not take that much time to make anyway. its a fighter and the characters are known and what moves they will have and anything extra can be added to them when they come up with them. if they have say 30 of them they can assign one or two too 15 or 30 modelers that can make them in like what 10-15h? then give them to animators and so on.

the things that will take time are the environments. how they will look and what will happen in them and how the characters will interact with them.

i give this game 1 and a half year to 2 years maximum or maybe just a year depending on how big the team is

umm no, most figheters dont take that long to make, Street Fighter 4 didnt take that long to make and i can name a few others

Well I was basing it on the scope of the game and not trying to exaggerate how little time it would take to make it. So it was all on what I thought, not what I know but if you know then sure. The less time the better of course :)

So you think they can make it in less than one year?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

As long as we get mario kart in 2012/13, I wouldnt mind to wait until 2014...

in one year?? hell no!! Maybe if it were Capcom (the fighting masters) or even Namco, id say possibly. But Ninty??? IMHO, they should take all the time they need. It hasnt even started to be made yet. I mean, good crap. it took them 3 years to make Brawl and the game was still a little unbalanced and the online was terrible, what the hell they were doing that entire time, im still trying to figure out.

If development begins in early 2012 I could see a holiday 2014 release. It's a little confusing though due to the multiplat element. Will the 3DS and Wii U versions be practically identical? Or, will each feature unique stages, characters, etc. If the latter ends up being the case, the development cycle may be extended.

Overall, it's difficult to say at this point.

I just know that it'd be awesome if we get capcom or other companies in this time around, because sonic and snake blew up the internet when they were added in.

Has Nintendo or any of its studios ever heard of the term "multitasking" before?

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the folks responsible for one of Nintendo's biggest series can't even begin work on the next installment because all their resources are currently devoted to a friggin HANDHELD game!

Oh well... maybe in the 3-5 years it'll probably take for us to see the next installment of the series, they'll finally be able to figure out this newfangled "internet" thingy and how it works so that we don't get an "online" mode that looks like it came straight out of 1995.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
