I have 5mbps and it's petty good even with dedicated servers outside my country.

I really hated BT internet, but hung on because they were rolling out fibre optic first. I'm glad I did.

12mbps is absolutely fine, if you actually get those speeds. More likely, you'll receive something like 4-5mbps, which is sort of pushing it.

Online gaming has always worked fine for me, even with my 20mbps connection (which invariably ranged from 4-8 mbps), but the faster your internet, the faster you can download games, so that's a bonus. I never buy PC games at retail - all on Steam.

^56 bucks after tax, I don't even know how much my bandwidth usage is, but it's a lot. Funny shit is on my ATT Atrix 4G, I've used like, 35GB this month so far on just my phone lol, don't know what I'd do without internet.

I would be a lot faster, but I found out that my router is the bottle neck. If I get a better router I should have over 100Mbps up/down.

Downloading torrents is fun with such speeds. :)

To the OP: 12mbps should be good enough for just about everything, if the pink is OK.

But to be honest, I would be content with 25/25 also. It's totally enough.

We do have it bad, unlike us, they got unlimited internet down there.  Up here we have 20gigs/month cause apparently it's "More than enough".

Yeah this is the average rate for around here...and AT&T is the last place I would get anything from!
