I don't see Nintendo screwing with a winning combination (Wii Sports Player + Wii Sports) until it's no longer a winning combination.

I've seen somewhere that "Wii Indoor Sports" is in the making. Maybe a Winter Sports game as well? Could be a future bundle, Wii+Wii Sports+Wii Winter Sports.

they wont change it, not for a long time yet at least. I doubt that it they released a wii sports 2 they would substitute the original for it as well.

Why try to fix something if it isnt broken?

I think that if Wiifit catches on in america and Europe as well as it has everywhere else, you'll start seeing official bundles with Wii sports, wiifit and wiiplay, which will be released the same time as a price drop for the system by itself.

I bought my GameCube with a MarioKart DD bundle back in the day. It had that cute Zelda bonus disc that contained Ocarina of Time and a 20 minute demo of Wind Waker. I must have played this demo 10 or 15 times (always going through the same pirate fortress) before the Wind Waker box finally arrived in the mail. Good times...

So back on topic the GameCube started without a pack-in but saw several bundles throughout its life. Nintendo does a lot of things different now than before so it's not easy to predict what they will do about Wii pack-ins. I like the rationale of the OP though and think that Wii Sport will remain the default pack-in for most of the Wii's life.

Maybe they drop it when the Wii is at $99 by Christmas 2011 or maybe another title that is as revolutionary as Wii Sports comes along in 2008 will be the new standard pack-in, who knows? Nintendo's 2008 line-up is still very much clouded.

I don't think there will be a Wii Sports II though. Miyamoto and Iwata have said before that that won't happen. And while there may well be Wii Fit bundles it won't be the default bundle because the extra hardware would invariably drive up the price by at least $50.

Another possibility would be to put Wii Sports into internal memory for a Wii hardware revision that will surely come sooner or later.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Why would they bother doing this if demand is still high? Why would they put in a peripherial that is going to sell for 80 dollars, for free? In addition to 60 extra dollars in controllers?

In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there won't even be any colors until summer / fall 2009 at the earliest.


at that moment ms and sony will have lowered there price again that they have to ( specially in japan)

next to that it's been 2 years since the wii is out and 1 year for the balance board.

I think production will be so high making a profit that even with such package they still make a profit.

I see this happen infact I am willing to bad we will see such a package around christmas 2008 or q1 2009 in japan ( depending on how much wiifit sells total)
