It is too early, there will probably be an announcement of a price drop at gamescon or TGS though.

Surprised? No, not really. It would be pretty dumb to announce a price cut in June unless there was a very desperate need for one. Neither Sony nor MS has that need.
For will happen soon...
Amazon was selling the PS3 160GB for $199 days ago.
Gamestop is now selling the PS3 BlackOps bundle for $250.
Yeah I was almost positive that they would announce a pricecut during the E3 conferences.
Guess we'll just have to wait until fall.
No. If ny memory is right, companies never announce price cuts at E3, unless their consoles are selling really low.

E3 is more focused on media... Gamescom is more focused on consumers... so there are more chance to Sony announce price cut at Gamescom
.

A price cut is almost certain. The recent Wii price cut showed that costumers were extremely price-sensitive : it surged 100%, overtaking PS3 and X360 despite severe software drought! Sony and Microsoft just can't let Wii take the top spot, and they also need to offer unbeatable price/quality ratio to counter WiiU. The price cut is likely to be announced at Gamescom.
