Not really surprised. Both consoles have had several price cuts already, especially the PS3. I'm guessing at least one of them will get a price cut for the holiday season, and probably during the Wii U launch.

not surprised at all consoles dont move during june-august people like myself go out to the beach and do other outdoor activities
there will be price cuts from both MS and sony id say just $50 from both, maybe even nintendo might go again if there sales drop off again, they will occur aug- nov, i believe both sony and MS will have revisions manly to there HDD sizes
i would like to see the arcade get axed and replaced with a HDD equipped console for 200 or less, and include there newer controller on all skus, from sony i would want alot of things for me to bite more usbs, wirelless N, maybe even ps2 B/C and touch sensitive buttons, but unlike what MS has done i severely doubt they will be adding anything but a HDD upgrade

Play Me
The'y are waiting for the best moment to strike.

Above: still the best game of the year.
I'm not surprised since both have been performing well at their current price. However I would like to see some cuts for the holiday season, especially for Kinect. I believe many people (like me) are waiting for it to drop to $100.
Try Gamefly for a month and get another one free!
| nightsurge said: It seems like it has been years since either of these consoles have had price cuts. The last price cut for the 360 was in early fall of 2008 and the PS3 early fall of 2009! The rumors were there, the analysts predictions of price cuts were there, yet nothing was announced at E3 for either 360 or PS3 to cut prices. Is anyone else surprised by this? Also, I still feel that there will be price cuts this year closer to the holidays. Perhaps Sony and Microsoft didn't want to hurt sales by announcing a price cut that wouldn't take affect for 3 more months yet? What do you guys think? Will we still see price cuts this year, and if so, what will the new prices be, what time frame will the drops occur, and will there be new models that feature new things such as bigger hard drives or slimmer designs? |
Why are you surprised that there were no pricecut announced at E3? E3 is too early to announce pricecuts, there is summer right after E3 when sales are very low. Announcing a pricecut at GamesCom in late August is better because the holiday season is starting with all the games coming out in fall.
