They are not leaving Sony. They were never a part of Sony. They never had an exclusivity deal with Sony. Their new game is still going to be on PS3.
It's not automatically terrible by virtue of the fact that it's a multiplat.

Oooh Stop Kantor. Insomiac are as much SONY developers as Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Santa Monica ext.. They there Loyalty SONY for 2 full Gens now. SONY owns ALL there IP's' they were pretty much a 2nd party developer. SONY even isssued a press realease about there displeasure Insomniac going Multi they didnt even do that for SE. Lets not pretend the that Insomniac was not close to the SONY family becaused they wernt "owned"
not that i care though, Insomniac are followers...they created the worst platformer character ever. SONY has no need for them any longer.

Of course they were loyal to Sony, and they still are. That's why they're still making Ratchet and Resistance. They just need some more money to fund their projects. Granted, being published by EA is not a good idea, but that's an entirely different problem.
Also, how is Ratchet the worst platformer character ever? Or are you referring to Spyro?
