£230 and £280 is well... REAAAAAAAAALLY expensive. 3DS was at £230 before it flopped hard.

Sony need to get lots of great games out, fast...

That does look rather awesome

@ carl 2291, I know, £230 is WAY WAY too high, about £50 more than the PS3, but the 3DS was sold about £200 and quickly dropped even lower, so I am really hoping that they do that with the Vita before launch, cause I can't wait for any more than I have to

But Sony have kind of got this right. I don't know if it actually has anything to do with the tsunami, but if they can't make enough units for a world wide launch, then getting it out as soon as possible is a good way to keep your fans happy. You also have to consider that the first 6 months to a year of a console are going to suck due to lack of games, but with Uncharted Golden Abyss as a launch title, Sony are doing the best they can to have quality games there to begin with

Also, every time I look at the Vita it takes my breath away (and reminds me not to get an XPERIA Play)

Over £200 is quite a big barrier to a lot of parents pockets, I guess they figure 6 months at a premium price then maybe offers around christmas to pickup the younger crowd given the UK launch window.

LOL, why are you guys complaining?
Here in Brazil this bad boy will cost like... R$1000,00... this is ... more than 530 US$!

I pre-ordered the Vita in GAME today! :) The guy behind the counter said he'd played it and that he was really impressed with it, especially with the screen. He said they might have some Vita's in store in November for customers to try out.

SCEA blog just posted a nice Vita vid about the development of the device, but more importantly hardware porn.
