Games in Final Week Before Launch

Ys: Memories of Celceta (PSV) added 4,199 pre-orders for a final total of 36,886. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 45,000 to 60,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 150,000 and 250,000 units.

@bolded: I hope they mean WW and not NA only but with their expected ~52k opening who knows lol. Either way it would be the best selling Ys game yet I believe!

Also, do they do this every week? and if so are their predictions ever close?

It's a JRPG so whatever number VGChartz thinks, it'll track that for the first few weeks then adjust it down by about 50% after NPD.

So I'm guessing something like 70k sold this year. Ys has a pretty dedicated fanbase in NA anyway (and rightfully so, for being such a consistently impressive series).

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the Prince of Persia games for PSP? I very much enjoyed the PS2 games I played in the series. Apparently Forgotten Sands is built-from-the-ground-up for PSP, while the other two are ports with extra content. But are they any good?

I totally get what they were going for with the linear worlds and how its all a journey to the "you" BUT i wish it had a hub world and all the worlds were a bit more open(maybe a mix?) kinda like the oldschool collectathon games like Banjo Kazooie, DK64 or even Super Mario 64/Sunshine to an extent, with a set amount of collectables per world (10 presents, 100 confetti ect ect)

I seriously think there's a missed opportunity here. Anyone whos played Banjo Kazooie or DK64 will know what im talking about.

I started on the NES and Atari, so when platformers shifted from tests of skill and pereverence wherein the task was to simply survive to the end of the level to busywork and fetch quests, I lost interest. I blame the N64 for that shift in objective. Mario 64 was the best version of this, and Banjo Kazooie was good, but I still didn't like the style of games.

DK64, on the other hand, is jsut bad. If you'd played the SNES trilogy, you'd understand just how much DK64 completely destroyed that franchise. Didn't get revived until 2010 when DKC Returns was released on the wii.

Soo...

This game is growing on me with every minute, which is incredibly rare, as I usually tend to get bored with a game and rarely actually finish games. Now, after finishing the game, grinding to the plat I... miss Iota I'm gonna wait some time, let myself forget a bit about the game and play it again. It really is a masterpiece and will be remembered forever.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

Just played through half an hour of Tekken 6 on PSP. Had more fun in that half hour than I had the whole time playign Dead or Alive 5+. Tekken's brand of combat just really suits me better.

Namco really missed a trick by not getting Tekken on Vita in the first year. I suspect a lot of old Sony fans own the system (like me) and I'd buy Tekken in a heartbeat, even if it was just a port of TTT2 or something.

Can only hope they port Tekken 7 at some point.

Oh, and I also hope they put Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on PSN.
