you forget that you're still waving your hands around in empty space like an idiot. it could be the most accurate tracking device in the world, but i will never be caught dead in the middle of my living room pretending i have something in my hand. that's just ridiculous.

In the same way that we currently sit still and press buttons like idiots? Moving around can be more fun than just pressing buttons, but that doesn't make it ridiculous. It'll look silly to anyone who doesn't know what's going on of course. It's the same way with sitting with a controller and pushing buttons, it looks silly to anyone who doesn't know what's going on.

If you don't like it, then that's fine. But at least be fair about, instead of just being a pointless hater.

sitting and pressing REAL buttons and holding a REAL controller isn't nearly as ridiculous as PRETENDING to be holding something and PRETENDING to be pressing something. i can't understand how you can compare the two things. well, if you like kinect, go ahead and like it. i'm not being a pointless hater. almost everyone in this thread so far aside from you has agreed to what i said about kinect. lets get over it. it's a kid's toy. it's a plaything for casual gamers who want a good giggle after a drink.

Factually wrong. I'm not a kid and I'm not a casual gamer. I'm a core gamer, and Microsoft are targetting Kinect at me.

>1% of the population vs. almost 100% does not convince me.

i have an even better analogy.

almost everyone universally thinks Wii Music is total crap. if one core gamer learns to like it, it doesn't mean it's suddenly a core game. it's just one person in a sea of people who hate it.

you're just one person in a sea of people who dislike kinect. therefore, it's not a core game.

1. Vita is going to lose. Tablets can do more things and the vast majority of portable gamers of today are more interested in simple games (i.e., angry birds, plants vs. zombies) that don't need that much power. Sure, hardcore gamers are still going to pick that up, but are there so many of them left nowadays on the handheld front? It'll fail to meet expectations. Last generation proved this. PSP lost to the DS by a huge margin and it didn't do it through power. Yeah, you can play God of War on PSP, all 1 million of you, but over 100 million people play Angry Birds. Sony should've scaled back the power and focused on innovation. The market isn't what it used to be.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic... Aside from the whole convention being a bit lackluster but seriously it's not THAT too bad.

I don't even want to read or comment on the rest of your rant just by seeing this one.

5. Kinect still looks as ridiculous as it started, and now it's even worse. Aside from looking stupid waving around in free space, the games looked like crap, aside from the Sesame Street thing, which was fitting for the thing since it's a kids game. Worst of all, they're going to put the bloody thing in places where it doesn't belong. In a shooter? In an action game? Thankfully it isn't too widespread. Get it devs, KINECT IS FOR KIDS, not for guys who want to shoot people! I'll never be caught dead pretending I have a gun in my hand. KB is still right. What is this, third grade? Pew Pew Pew.

Please, now you're just being ignorant. I'm not going to tell you what to think of Kinect, but if you don't think it can't improve gameplay outside of kids games, then you really are blind. Mass Effect 3 looked way more fun to play giving voice commands to your squad instead of going through all the menus, and it looks like it will drive immersion up too. Ryse looks akin to Red Steel 2, which was awesome. Fully tracked battles with sword and shield, yes please!

you forget that you're still waving your hands around in empty space like an idiot. it could be the most accurate tracking device in the world, but i will never be caught dead in the middle of my living room pretending i have something in my hand. that's just ridiculous.

Sorry you measure your manliness by sitting on a couch hitting buttons on a remote.

But it's a wrong analogy. If Kinect isn't something for core gamers, why is Rise of Nightmares in the works? Ryse? Steel Battalion?

And why are games like Minecraft, Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier using it?

Because it's also for core gamers. You sound like someone who saw a grown man playing Pokemon and going "Pffft, Pokemon is for kids.".

Otherwise I agree E3 sucked apart from NGP $249 and I liked Nintendo's console concept!

it wasn't in either conference. a game of this magnitude should have more press time than say, the piece of crap that was kinect star wars. it's like they were burying everything somehow.

You know I was thinking about this recently, most of the Final Fantasy reveals have happened at Sony's conferences, and with neither Sony nor Microsoft caring about the franchise anymore I wonder what will happen.  Maybe Sony will dedicate some Versus time at TGS, but other than that I wonder what will happen to this franchise, like at conferences and such.

that's the point. it's a mistake. they shouldn't be putting a kid's peripheral in a grown man's game. this argument will go on forever. either way, majority says kinect isn't for core gamers. you may be an exception, along with the rest of you 1%, but that doesn't make you right. it just makes you different. majority says kinect is for kids and casual giggle hunters. so it is universally understood as that.

No GTAV was pretty disappointing.
