I was fine with E3. It's a damn trade show, not a fan convention. Nintendo's Wii U announcement was enough to keep me interested, plus I did find a few games I was interested in like Far Cry 3, X-COM, Asura's Wrath, Deus Ex, and so on.

Sorry you (and many others) feel that way...
It certainly wasn't one of the best ever, but for me, it had plenty of solid software. I thought Uncharted 3 looked great (if a bit too similar), the 3DS games coming out (all this year) looked fantastic, Zelda: SS looked great as well, and the mighty Bioshock Infinite stole the show for me personally. Even games I wasn't initially excited for like Batman, Skyrim and Battlefield ended up really impressing me.
I agree the PSV probably won't do as well as it should, but it's still a very nice (and well priced) little system.
And to say the Wii U will never win you over just sounds premature, IMHO (not that you're the only one). So much of it is still kept secret, and they didn't show a single finished game.
