Forums - Nintendo - Did Nintendo Just blow it?

I can understand being disappointed by the conference - they focused on the controller and had no notable software or even the actual hardware to show - but I can't see how anybody can be disappointed by a console that we still know absolutely nothing about.

-We don't know the hardware specs
-We don't know what software Nintendo is planning
-Almost no information about Japanese software support

It was probably a poor decision to show this thing so early, and some people may not like the controller, but when all is said and done, we really can't properly judge the system yet.

I also expected more than SMBMii... Really?

Not a real game. Concept.

As for me, i don't think they quite dropped the ball, but i do think it looked like it was a bit too soon for them to announce it, similar to when the announced Vitality Sensor in 09 with nothing to back it up, here they had a handful of tech demos and... what?

I think we were all expecting E3 2006, but what we got was TGS 2005 (where they pretty much just showed off the controller and that was it)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i think we wont see any 1st party games for the wii u until tgs this year and the full blown reveal on everything the system can do till e3 next year. i think this year , was a confirmation of the system and controller. i also believe they are gonna let the 3rd parties have there day in the sun with there games, then show off what there 1st party games look like, almost like what they did with the 3ds.

I want this badly though. Zelda and Metroid are always the system seller for me.

You missed one step in that.

Internets: "Wii sux, it isn't HD and has no good games."

5 years later

Nintendo: "So we're making an HD console with 3rd party support."

Internets:

I hope to god this isn't a tech demo.

they didn't blow it....just dropped the ball, they still can pick it up and run with it(yes I just made a football analogy)

To be fair, there was no way in hell Nintendo was going to announce such things as price, specs, launch titles, etc when the thing is still more than a year away from release. Anyone who honestly thought Nintendo would reveal all that info rather than just a broad overview hasn't been paying very close attention to Nintendo in recent years.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing... on the one hand the stuff it could do looked impressive, and the fact that they have a company like EA on board right out of the gate as well as other "core" 3rd party developers is very promising, but I can't help but feel that the thing is a bit too gimmicky in the same way that the 3DS and the Wii itself were a bit gimmicky.

We're just gonna have to wait till later this year or possibly even into next year until we get the whole picture of it.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

wii fans: ''hd consoles sux, no motion control, wii has superior control''

Sony/MS:'' here the move and kinect, play your on rail games yeah''

wii fans:'' copycats, 4 years late, will fail lolz''

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
