Forums - Nintendo - I want Mario Kart 3DS to be more like Mario Kart: Double Dash, who's with me?

But whyyyyyyyy???? Why everyone hates Double Dash, it's so fun and I don't see anything broken about it.
I'm sure the only reason you all hate it so much is because it was a Gamecube game

A. its a GC game and B. it required a bit more skill than say MKWii. Which Ninty made so it could be more accesible to a larger user base

Cn't say, never played that double dashed dude.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Double Dash is easily the worst in the series, that snaking glitch ruined the entire game. Mario Kart Wii does it right, except for the Battle Mode.

Double Dash is my least favorite of the Mario Kart games that I have played. I didn't even care about the double character thing. I even kind of liked that.

What didn't I like? I didn't like special items being limited to certain characters. I didn't really like the tracks. Only a few were memorable. I thought that they were just not up to the standard of the previous games. Most of all, I didn't like the controls. They just felt sloppy compared to the other games.

Oh god no! I don't want one of my few anticipated games on 3DS ruined!

But whhyyyyy??

Why people detest it so much and hate it beyond me.

- Shitty, uninspired levels

- Equally shitty, repetetive music

- Stupid gimmick of two player in a single cart

- Sluggish, sloppy controls, which become even worse if you actually try to play with a second player in your cart

- No retro levels

I guess I don't DETEST it, I still enjoy it more than a lot of racing games I've played, it's just terrible for Mario Kart standards.

I agree that the battle mode of DD was vastly superior, other than that I have to disagree on pretty much everything.

The super abilities of characters were fun, but unbalanced. Some character choices were just vastly better than others, in MK:Wii they made a slight difference.

As for items knocking you down for too long. Let me guess, you got used to time trail using Funky Kong with the fastest car, and then you are confused why it aint working out for you in multiplayer? Try Daisy in the Mach Bike, great acceleration and great top speed if you learn how to wheelie appropriately.

Level design in MK:Wii >> MKDD

I can't believe anyone would say Double Dash had sloppy controls! I thought the controls were excellent, and I liked the music on it. The main theme I'd consider a classic Mario tune.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

I agree with other users I'd rather see a title similiar to MarioKart:DS. Though my favorite multiplayer mode is balloon battle. I want to see a free for all online balloon battle this time round. I think Nintendo could have improved their online gameplay on MarioKart:DS. But if it has to be like a MarioKart home console title then I'd want it to be similiar to MarioKart64. I liked Double Dash alot and was dissapointed in Wii's version. I like MarioKart for the multiplayer, if they screw with that then I don't enjoy the games as much.

im with the OP on this one, DD is my fav in the series, Wii was fun but not as challenging and didnt have that double rider element. IF you didnt like DD you probably just werent that good in it. MKWii is like Fisher Price My First Mario Kart game

There are more than two Mario Kart games you know. Someone saying they hated DD doesn't automatically mean they'd want the next one to be more like MKWii... That had tracks that were far too wide, and those god damn bikes...

If it's going to be like any of them, it should be MK64 or MKDS...

And that 'if you hate it you must be crap at it' stance is just so fucking childish.

I also want to add that I really want 12 player races to return from MKWii, but I also want a choice over whether to play battle mode in teams or all v all.

Oh, and Yoshi Valley better be one of the retro tracks, such an awesome stage.
