here's a random article http://www.pcworld.com/article/207925/new_ps3_netflix_version_leapfrogs_xbox_360_best_version_yet.html

Like I posted earlier, that article was written when the PS3 got a Netflix update a few weeks before the 360 got the same update.  There may be some very, very, very miniscule difference between the two (so miniscule that we're going to have to contact Lens of Truth or Digital Foundry to run a comparison) but for the most part, Netflix 360 and Netflix PS3 are almost identical.

Speed (for me, PS3 is faster), interface (360 offers Kinect support), and a couple of other factors that may or may not make a difference (how you sign up, whether you want to watch alone or with friends oniline, etc.) are the only differences.  So much misinformation in this thread, it's crazy!

I can't believe people are arguing over which console has the better Netflix experience.  It's not blu ray quality or anything on any device.  Anybody serious about a movie will just buy the disc.  For everybody else, if you have a PS3 you should use the PS3 version.  If you have the 360 (and Xbox Live), use the 360 version.  Nobody is missing out on anything.  The difference in experience is virtually non-existent!!  It's like watching a show on DirecTV and watching the same show on Dish Network.  Who the heck cares?  It's the same show!!  Other things like your TV, your audio setup, and your internet connection are what will decide how much you enjoy the feature.  Gosh, people!!

I am missing out on the HD programs since I only have a Wii.  Not that I care considering I watch King of the Hill, Southpark, Archer, Futurama, etc.  (I don't even think those cartoons are available in HD stream anyways on PS3, 360, Roku, etc).  Even when watching movies on Wii it is still in good enough quality for my eyes (watched Last Man Standing last night... was a decent movie).  Anyways, you are right it shouldn't matter what device you use.  Netflix is bad ass on anything and you can get all the shows on any device (just not in HD for the few shows/movies that have it available).

Who fucking cares. They are nearly identical with minoscule differences.

@kasz that check comment made me laugh out loud. I honestly did not know that you need a gold account to access Netflix, that would explain things. Yeah the thread should stop

This has to be THE most pathetic argument I have seen on VGChartz.

Naw this is small time peanuts man.

That's what makes it so pathetic though.  People are coming up with downright silly arguements on why one service is better then the other when they are basically identical.

This is basically as good of a barometer of "blindingly biased" are some people as you find.

Unless you can start a thread and get people to argue why a $10 check from sony is better then a $10 check from Microsoft and vice versa.

"The check from sony is green, like money... so you are more likely to cash it!"

"The check from Microsoft looks like it was written by hand... so you can tell they care more!"

Thread should of never got beyond "Not all 360s can access netflix."

People should just pick the one they prefer. If one loads faster than the other or if one has a better user interface, then use that one. If you have the advantage of using Kinect with Netflix, then use the 360 version (and so on).

The differences between the two versions of Netflix are so small, yet there is a huge argument over it.

And I thought arguing over consoles was bad enough.

WOW PS3 is leading device!

They don't have to pay for online, so I'm not surprised. I think you have to be a gold member on XBox Live to stream Netflix. I could be wrong, but I don't know. The other fact is a large % of PS3 owner originally bough their PS3 to watch Blu-Ray movies and not play games. So I'm sure that contributed to that larger %.

makes sense.

netfilx on ps3 is free.

also wathing and streaming movies seems to be something thats cators to the ps3 user demographics.

being that a lot of ps3 users bought it for its multimedia features, like bluray. so there are probably more movie lover/watchers with a ps3 than any other console

Netflix isn't free. You still have to pay monthly fees to watch Netflix movies on PC, 360 and PS3. It might be extra for the 360 if you have to be a gold member. I'm thinking about getting Netflix so I can cut back on purchasing Blu-Ray and DVD movies.

The Netflix app for PS3 is better than 360 one... so expected.

LMFAO, hahahahahaha, hehahohehaho... no it's not, but thanks for the good laugh.

 "Xbox Pause"

So saying "Xbox Pause" is faster than pressing a pause button?

ABSOLUTELY, when I'm sitting back on my couch and the controller is on the table, or if I get up to walk out of the room, I can be in the other room and yell "Xbox Pause" and it works fine.

You know when your watching a movie (No Matter the console) and your a good 40min in, the Controller turns off, then you have to turn it on, and then hit pause.  Saying "Xbox Pause" is so much easier.

Netflix on 360 starts up quicker in my house, PS3 takes to long to load and for box art to show up, just doesn't feel as solid as the 360 version.

Why would you be in the "other room" to watch a movie?  And my remote controllers NEVER turn off unless the battery is dead or the device it's suppose to control is off.  Also, it's far more precise to press a button to play a scene after rewinding and/or fast forwarding instead of timing it to play at an exact point after saying "Xbox (function)."  But for some it's better.  I'm not going to argue that.  So for those who are willing to pay $210 extra USD to have this better feature ($60 for XBL Gold $150 Kinect) more power to them.

Please don't tout BS $210 extra charge for a feature as if thats the only thing Kinect is used for, thats like saying why did I spend $300 on a PS3/360 when I could have bought a $79.00 BR Player to watch Netflix.  Kinect Netflix function just came out and is an added bonus.  Xbox Rewind and Fastforward work flawlessly, the same as using the remote so I don't know what your talking about with "precision".

Why would I be in the other room?  because I get up from the couch to walk into the other room, you know to take care of other things. The world DOES NOT STOP when I'm watching a movie. When I walk out of the room, I forget to pause, so I yell 'Xbox pause', it's really not that hard to understand.

I guess you have the only controllers on the planet that don't turn off when not in use to save battery life, congrats on that.

lol I seriously forgot that you need batteries for an xbox controller, unless you buy that rechargeable thingy

I have my controller on all the time, it doesn't need batteries so I don't gotta worry about that and I have a 10 ft usb to charge my controller so I can sit wherever I please while it charges so no inconvenience there.

Netflix on PS3 is free? in USA I guess because here in South America we get the shitty mexican netflix which cost like 10$ a month
