Gotta go with Freedom Fighters. It was a great squad based game with an awesome setting and really good squad controls but sold terribly

I'll second this.  I didn't think of it because it was from last gen, but it is a really fun game.  I loved the way you could control your squad in this game.  It was very easy to give individual orders, or just sent the whole group to a location.  Why there are not more games like this I will never know.

Add me t the Freedom Fighters love fest!  This game should have had a sequel by now!!

That mission where everyone invaded the Government's Island on ice was really badas.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Meh, I've seen guys who have gone much far than that...(both in resistence and evilry).

Name them and what they did, and I'll give you a little bit more on Luca.

Naraku from Inuyasha for one. You won't find many villains that survive for 530 chapter, making sure everyone  of Feudal Japan hates you on the mean time. And killing the same person three times over. Heck, he causes hate even before the story starts.

Yakuza series.

I've never played that game... What exactly does Naraku do?

Inuyasha is a manga, but has a TV series and a really bad DS game.

As for my choices

Sin and Punishment (both are good) Starfox fans will love these, Since playing the first one on VC it became my fav N64 game beating out Starfox.

Excitebot Trick Racing. Great game, its fast its fun and you dont even have to win the races its all about the tricks, and a little about winning. But mostly the tricks.

Mushroom wars. Simple RTS game that is a lot of fun. now iwth onlien.

Lots of PC games I played in the last 2 years which most members of this site have never heard of, e.g.

Gemini Rue, Ceville, The Whispered World, A New Beginning, Lost Horizon, Patrician IV, Runaway: A Twist of Fate, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, Drakensang: The Dark Eye, Anno 1404, The Book of Unwritten Tales.

Very interesting post.

I'm a sucker for those kinds of adventure games, thanks for this post. (the Whispered World looks awesome!)

Whats the best out of the games you listed and is Anno 1404 for much more different than the DS version?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Heavy Rain in my eyes is a work of art and deserves a lot more attention than it gets currently. (which I know is a lot but it deserves more) lol

Resistance series (better than killzone imo) and Folklore.

Argh!

I just got back to this thread and just saw your edit.

Anyway. Luca Blight...

Murdered his own Father at his Sister's Wedding just so he could start a bigger war than the one he was already trying to start. Before this, he organised a raid on a "Scout" regiment posted in the mountains that was filled with Children-Teenagers. Why? Well... So he could pin the blame on the neighbouring State of Jowston.

Just after this, one of his generals got ambushed. After this ambush he was punished for getting ambushed and was killed for it.

Just surviving doesn't make you an evil bastard that just needs to die already. Simply killing people for the sole reason that you enjoy killing people... Now that's evil. A quote from when he does actually finally die does this perfectly for me.

"It took hundreds to kill me but I killed humans by the thousands. I am sublime!!! I am the true face of evil!!!!"
