Yes but what happens when, in this case, should steam ever 'die' and you don't have all of the content you own already downloaded/backed-up? Thats right you lose it forever... which to be entirely honest would screw me over, personally I just find steam sales unfairly juicy (I have over 250 games on steam :S).

True, you can't sell it like you would with a normal game, but that's the way things are designed now. As I pointed out with #2, we're seeing new features making DD more attractive all the time, and as DD becomes more and more normal, we're bound to see more features that help us manage the digital space.

But your digital collection still holds value, and just because you can't manage that value very well right now doesn't mean you can't in the future.

If price in digital form is anything to go by then no thanks, Mass Effect 2 as a download on PSN was RRP, that's £50.

Every shop had it at £40 when it was first released, you can now get it for £20.

Also, these people think from a Western modern world perspective where everyone has super duper fast internet and a net connection that's stable. Yes  most their money might come from places that do have that but turning to digital only restricts your sales base. Those in the world without this luxury cannot get a hard copy to ever play.

Yep i totally agree. The problem with digital is that if the hard drive crashes or account gets hacked, I bet they won't give you back you game. well if it's on your account they will allow you to redownload but if it's hacked ur screwed.  Plus in the case you mentioned above. I have more then one xbox as well, so how am I going to play on other xbox accounts or allow my girl to play the game on her own account.  So it is only good on my account. It's way to restrictive and people are not down with that.

How about this. Give the deals to companies that don't resell games. I hear all this complaining but yet they do all the deals with gamestop. HELLO!!!!!!. If you have a company that doesn't sell used games. give the exclusive deals too or free add ons to that company.  Make it so people don't want to shop at gamestop or other places that resell used games.  Thats called being competitive and not screwing over your base because of a buisness decision of a campany like gamestop.

I don't buy used games or sell games because I feel ripped off but I am also wanting to go somewhere else then gamestop. They are so full of sh-t it's not even funny.  False info and bullsh=t service but yet if i want my exclusive whatever, 9 times out of ten I got to got to gamestop. So who's fault is that. F--kers

He is forgetting that a lot of people have collector souls when it comes to hobbies and just like to look at the shelves/boxes/albums of CDs/DVDs/stamps/toy soldiers/whatever else.

Since mp3 downloads haven't killed CD as medium then games on physical medium has even more chance to stay.

I personally like seeing my games lined up neatly on my shelf. I do have a bunch of PSN games but not having hard copies feels like I stole them or something. The moment the gaming industry goes all digital is the moment I go treasure hunting...aaarrhh me mateies
