Because everyone knows that 2008 users are the best

but in all seriousness 2010 and 2011 so far haven't had anyone that great.  Just lots and lots of members who join for a short time, post about 100 - 200 times then either get banned or go into Lurker mode.

Also compared to the older days the site seems to have far less good discussion, and more "fanboy" and console wars battles.

oh gawwwd yes... something needs to be dobe about all garbage popping up on this site

every thread eventaully turns to a fanboy no matter the topic it never fails.

I don't trust old users about how good the "good ol' days" were. In pretty much every community I've been to, older members always moan about how things are far worse than they used to be. People just dislike change and claim the older times were better when, in three years time, there'll be people moaning about the terrible '13 members and how awesome 2010 was.

Oh, and if we're to go by older members of this site, then clearly it's better for this community if Wii succeeds, ;). Apparently, things have been ruined since Wii started dropping off in 2010, xD.

trust..this site was awesome back in the day... i pretty muched lurked this site intill i decided to officcially join. This site had more...character/charm than it does now...i wnna use a different words but that the best i can come up with.

i think moderators should be aggressive about consalidating  threads

go look at SONY and NINTENDO forums

there no way we should allow that to continue

on  my old they did not allow more than one thraecont same topics to be open

if 2 threads were created and delved into the same argument

one of them would be looked and any  futureb other thread that couldnt keep a seperate topic from the unlocked one would be too

Actually I was the clear winner, the OP shouldn't be allowed to be in the contest especially when he made it! The whole  2010 member stuff was flawed. 

I haven't seen any yet, most of them just put some idotic one liners or develop a long paragraph with invalid points.

1. Apart from M.U.G.E.N. there where not 'top' users in 2010.
