iirc that makes it $700 million bucks in the red for this gen, so at this rate, ms will break even on xbox 360 by end of calender year and more than tripled their userbase for this gen, even if theres a new xbox holiday 2012

Also with all the talk of Nintendo being mentioned in this thread. Nintendo still had a healthy profit this quarter, I think slightly greater then Microsoft, but one would have to compare them.

Crazy numbers, brilliant everytime. Numbers for EDD should be high until next gen now!

600k is fine for a product that sells 150k+ a week WW? Basically 4 Weeks of stock, maybe less in stores/warehouses/ships?
800k I could understand, 600k just seems a tad low to me I guess. I suppose we will see when WW numbers go up on the site. The Wii somehow didn't get adjusted down all that much in America so maybe you're right

Yeah, something like $340m for Nintendo and $225m for MS EDD, I think. You do realize that Nintendo had 3DS and Pokemon BW launch though? That would add quite a bit, I'd assume.
I just don't get why Nintendo isn't profiting more. I mean, the 2011 FY had sales decline well less than half yet profits declined several times over, I believe. From several billion to not even a billion. Even if you account that to 3DS development and stuff, with the huge shipment allocated to the console last quarter, as well as the massiveness that was Pokemon BW, you'd think Nintendo would be carrying bucketloads of profit.

Kowens points were spot on, there are always (well nearly, save for retail shortages ect) going to be more PS3's on shelves, warehouses ect than 360's not only because it sells well across the globe, but it's sold in many more countries than 360 is.
As the 360 ages and PS3 gains more dominance in Europe, & wise, the 360 is shipping/selling more and more in US/UK.
Anything under 500k and yeah I agree, but 600k for this time of year, for the 360, seems alright to me.

360 numbers are ok... I predicted 2.2m... Wii (2.1m) on the other hand killed me in the predictions thread |
better luck next time

thats obvious, the real question is by how much.
$50 or $100 (for both PS3 and xbox)
i think both the xbox 250 gb and ps3 have a good chance at $100 off.
but the xbox arcade is more tricky, im pretty sure this is their least profitable model, so i dont think they have much room at all if they do i think it would be by $25.
but they might consolidate the models, and just make the 250 GB $200 and not have an arcade. or im completely wrong
