Just because it doesn't win sales, does not mean it wasn't a good year or even the year. Besides the first two years, ps3 is one of the best consoles ever released. 

For the past 5 Years, when people have claimed a Year to be "Year of the PS3!!!", it's been talking about sales.

This is why we get people mocking that "2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 will be the Year of the PS3!!! lolzz".

2009 was a great year with both the slim and a great exclusive line-up

2010 was a good year overall but it didn't have the feeling of what 2009 brought

2011 is looking to be the best year for Sony both sales and line-up, PS3 has been leading the home consoles and we've already seen LBP2, Killzone 3, Socom 4(Ar tonelico 3...well I though it was big) with so much more to come and we haven't even gotten to  E3.

As long as I can use shipment data, and not VGChartz dodgy sales data, I will be happy to make this thread again in 9 Months time.

If they cut PS3 price during Q3 2011 (ideally after XB360 cut, to steal its thunder, as Sony let MS doing it instead far too many times, but at the very latest during September, if MS doesn't cut by then) and release great bundles for Golden Week, BF and Xmas 2011, "Year of the PS3" could be FY 2012.

BTW, with Nintendo giving up pushing Wii further, and having never really exploited WM Plus' full potential, and with MS attacking more brutally Balance Board than anything else with Kinect, Sony could start bundling Move with every PS3 and get really serious about picking up any part of the motion control market overlooked by both MS and Ninty.

The year of the ps3 to me means games. So hell yah
