You know this Wii2 announce really brings an interesting question concerning Dragon Quest X.

There really hasn't been a lot of third party support and Nintendo pretty much told the only big one they had in Japan FU.

Because announcing the next console can't be good for DQ X.

makes you wonder if like someone already said it won't be released on Wii2 with probably in that case cross platform support with the PS3...

And thereby leaving the entire holidays to Sony and Microsoft? Not everyone is going to want to buy a handheld.


Look at the Wii catalog and then look at the PS3/360 catalog, do you really think they are targeting the same folks ?

Has any console maker stopped advertising its system because it's going to launch a new one the next year? Were all those millions of new DS owners outraged and incensed when the 3DS came out?

I just went through the supplementary earnings sheet - 23 games published by Nintendo topped 1m units. When I look at the figures I think the third party market on Wii actually just peaked given how high sw remained overall as Nintendo's share fell. I guess if the current March 2012 year split at 40m / 100m (including bundles) third party software could be flattish again though.

Okay. So the PS2 shipped 1.7 Million for the Quarter in its 10th Year.

And... The Wii just shipped 1.37 Million.

I can't wait to see what it did come May.

Nikkei falls ... blame Nintendo

Japanese shares have opened lower on a firmer yen and after a disappointing earnings report and outlook from Nintendo, brokers say.

The Nikkei index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 0.53 per cent or 51.48 points to 9,620.48 in the first minutes of trading.
