I look forward to the Wii2, and 2012/early 2013 was always the most likely IMO. Let the Wii have its banzai end of life, ait has loads of great games coming out...

he is biased, but what he says is part of the truth. if nintendo want to please the core gamers that bought a ps3/360 then ps3/360 like graphics for a next gen system will not suffice.

I made a long comment but it killed itself, so here's the highlights:

  • Good job it won't happen then
  • Analogy about motoring performance at high speeds
  • Graphics won't grow exponentially
  • HD makes a massive difference, the Wii is more than 2X the power of the PS2, and more than half that of the 360
  • Graphics come at the cost of high prices. Which is better?
So yeah. I CBA to write it all out again >.<

look at the graphics on pc's and then look at consoles. if a ps4 x720 release right know youl see those graphics. and theirs a big diffrence btw those and what we have right now on consoles. they already grew exponentially.

for hardcore gamers high prices. thats why the hd twins are alive.

the next ps4/720 will also be in hd, if not more. so how does that help?

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

nothing new here, he's only stating the obvious: nintendo are behind on graphics and thats why they suffer in terms of 3rd party support.

wii did well because it popularised motion gaming but i dont see anything that special in the specifications rumored so far and that means it will most likely end up like gamecube.

probably this console is just to be on sell for mmmm 4 years maybe 5 so far, so the wii 3 or whatever it will be called will be out just after the ps4 and xbox 720, and yeah i believe that the ps4 is gonna be on sell maybe on 3 years not before, is too expensive to continue with the old model console, the market has to evolve.

From an historical standpoint, the 3rd party support situation this generation is totally unprecedented.  In general, the weakest console in any given generation tends to be the winner (see: Game Boy vs Game Gear, PSX vs N64, PS2 vs GC/XBox, DS vs PSP, Wii vs PS3/360), which in turn leads them to attract the most and best 3rd party support.  The first half of the historical trend was met, but the second half was not.  Granted, the gap in graphical power this generation is greater than it was in the past, but with the financial challenges of HD development and history in mind, third parties' abject refusal to support the market leader this generation is nothing short of puzzling.

To wit: Never in the history of the console wars has the best-selling system in a generation received the worst third party support.  Until the Wii.

Actually that's not true. The Wii has the most third party games out of all consoles, it got the most support technically.

That's subjective. To a lot of people uDraw would be shovelware, but it's a hit.

im not talking about udraw. you said wii has the most 3rd party support. and most of it consits of shovelware. or else their woudnt be any talks about the wii having bad 3rd party support.
