Does this mean the 3DS is being compared to the PS3 in another thing now?

The huge shipped/sold debate?

I lol'd

Same here, gotta love some people, it's not like the first couple of lines aren't very clear this is shipped numbers not sold to consumer... and if VGC had 1m units sold we would have seen that last week...

It might be overshipping, it might need a little adjustment on VGC, it might be a little of both, but Capcom sold their million copies to retailers and that is something for them to celebrate.

No, it's not something to celebrate unless the consumer demand is also proven. If the game doesn't sell that well, then they overestimated demand, and then will likely find more reason to shun yet another Nintendo system.

And the thread title that you wrote does not use the word "shipped", so you have no business calling on us for assuming the information is misleading, as you are presenting it that way yourself.

Sorry that seller means seller, be it sold to consumer or retailer... if you assume that the thread was sold to consumer before you came in, then that's on you...

No, that IS what makes it a spin. If yo write "seller", without clarification, you cannot blame people for assuming it's the other of two meanings.

Shipped does not mean sold dumbass. Wake me up when you have some real numbers. And shame on you for quoting Capcom over VGChartz.

Actually it does mean sold, since one organization has sold it to another organization. What you  are trying to refer to is called sell-through rate. Next time, best advice not to call another person a dumbass, namely when you yourself aren't correct on the termonology.

Add: The applies to anyone else, who is stating something like this. Given your history on this site, you should know the difference by now.

The only thing that surprises me about this PR is that it claims Megaman Legends 3 as an ANNOUNCED title. I thought that game hadn't even been "green lit" yet?

EDIT: Maybe I'm reading too much into the word "announced." Still it being included in this piece of official PR gives me hope that it will see the light of day.

Megaman Legends 3 is in production already. They have been working on it for quite a while now. Development paused for a bit after Inafune got fired, but it is back up and running again. You can even help decide the color of Megaman's crotch.

The thing is the second organization is a middleman, and the public is what gives this middleman their money. If the public hasn't gone for it in anywhere near those numbers, then the middleman will not be happy about it.

Well it is trully the middle man that over orders or over estimates demand. I think they will sell the 1 million by the way, but I was just commenting on the fact, that so many people are picking fights about the term "sold", when what they are really trying to convey is sell-through.

That's semantics, as we are still calling on being sold to stores as being good enough as sold to consumers.

For me, that says that they don't care about the consumers themselves. They may not, but it also speaks about this instant gratification mentality with game companies that they only care about the first weeks of a game, which is short sighted.

I doubt it (doubt it's the first game to ship 1 million) tbh, according to VGChartz, there are 2 games that have sold more than SSFIV, and both of these appeal to a wider audience, and will thus be sold at a wider variety of different stores, which will increase the amount sitting on shelves.

3rd is good regardless

I hate to get into this, but on VGChartz, in the news posts and on the forums, we refer to Shipped and sold, as opposed to sold and sellthrough. There is no reason why either is superior, but you may as well be consistent with the majority. Anyway, semantics, doesn't really mattter.
