Forums - Gaming - Is it just me or is Bioshock 2 stupid-easy?

I have only ever played it on hard with vita-chambers off (because vita-chambers totally ruin it for me) and it was still stupidly easy, so yeah, that's basically the case. I'm not sure about console shooters in general, but the only real challenge in both Bioshocks has been at the beginning of the game. The more you upgrade your shit, the more you turn into a ridiculous beast.

Ah, so you're not finding it that difficult either.

The original wasn't that difficult (I'm pretty sure I played it on hard) but in the first half of the game, things still got hairy every so often and got me panicking and fleeing.

Honestly, I think what is breaking this game for me is the rivet gun. I use it constantly for small enemies, which conserves my ammo for the more beastly things when the need arises. Then, when I need to guard a Little Sister, I just trap rivet the shit out of everything around me. During one corpse harvest, I saw a whopping two splicers get through my rivet farm. I could have taken a nap.

You can buy ammo everytime... so even small enemies I used strong weapons too... I just save electric weapons and crossbow for big daddies.

Killzone 2 was very hard on the hardest mode, Killzone 3 is super easy even on the hardest mode.

So you might be on to something.

The rivet gun came in handy for gathers, but I think the hilariously overpowered drill tonics are what broke it for me. If you stack Drill Power 1 & 2 with Drill Specialist and Drill Lurker, you can literally bash your way through the vast majority of the game, even on hard. Then throw on Drill Vampire, and you even heal as you bash.

Killzone 2 is harder too.

I wouldn't know I don't own a PS3.

It's just that simple.

I've only recently started dabbling with the drill because I got drill bash a few hours ago and realized that it's a ridiculous tank weapon. I forgot to mention that I also use that fairly often.

Bioshock isn't meant to be a hard game, Levine said himself that the reason why he added the Vita Chambers was because he was worried that most gamers wouldn't explore the world or ever finish the game. I love both 1 & 2 and I cruised through them, but the easiness didn't lessen the experience.

If you want a hard shooter, then your probably better off playing Killzone 2, Halo: Reach, Bad Company 2, Far Cry 2 and F.E.A.R. on the hardest difficulty.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Maybe you should've looked into some of the criticism that Bioshock received, before you started the second one. Because I think it's a pretty well known "fault" of the game, mentioned in every review and user report.

But please don't use one FPS series as an indicator for all current gen shooters.

Halo 3, ODST, Reach
Call of Duty 2-5
Killzone 2 (maybe 3 as well)
Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2

plenty of hard ones to choose from.

i played it on hard and i died like 5 times during the first big sister fite

Call of Duty 2-5

Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 1 wasn't that hard on Expect.

Left 4 Dead 2  on the other hand is very, very hard on expert and none of my friends have beaten all the chapters on expert. I take what I said back earlier: I went thru Left 4 Dead 2 on Normal I couldn't take on Expert and Realism would be insanely brutal.

ODST wasn't hard, and Reach on Legendary I died a lot but because of your AI allies that never die  It's defenitely doable.

Call of Duty 2 was another tough one besides WAW, and COD3 had infinite respawning enemies as well.

ODST had some VERY hard parts. Basically everything that involved hunters, since you can't jump over them unlike the Master Chief. Without a friend I would almost call it impossible.

Also the last level (coastal highway) where you need to protect the Olifant. Tried it on Legendary with various splitscreen partners but never made it to the end. I think I'm only around 15 minutes away from the end and would get 350G after that >.>
I'm sure it would a be a lot easier with 3 or 4 players, but I don't have a gold membership and not enough friends who own ODST...
