Forums - Nintendo - What reviewers are overlooking on SSFIV 3D and its a shame

It's a real shame the shape our media industry is in and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, new gen, fresh start right?  You'd be wrong as the reviews of Super Street Fighter IV 3D are all fairly positive but right out of the gate these reviewers aren't even reviewing the CONTENT you're getting with your game as Super Street Fighter IV 3D has all the DLC of the console versions, a 46 dollar value (first costume bundle = 18, all 7 packs of the second set = 28) a value that costs more than the 3DS game itself!

I find a few of the reviews for this game to be rather poor for many reasons but one theme that most of these reviews have in common is that they don't even mention this fact.  The very premise of reviews are knowledgable people telling you what kind of package (content) you're getting, if you look at something like Game Informers review, they try to claim the game is the first street fighter on a Nintendo console in 2 decades and again they don't mention the DLC content *shake my head*

Frome Game Informer: "It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly two decades since a Street Fighter game has appeared on a Nintendo system. More astonishingly, Capcom decided to break that dry spell by releasing Super Street Fighter IV on a portable system."

Cause the GBA is so 2 decades old!  Yeah it's pretty sad the state of our industry, that a "journalist" can't be bothered to do 5 seconds worth of fact checking on the internet or asking someone who owned a GBA for that matter.

Lol Industry just got owned. I must say all that being included makes it one hell of a deal. When and if I do get a 3DS at some point I will be checking this game out. Thanks for your Journalism skills. Perhaps Capcom should give you some free games =)

this has only once again confirmed my dislike for gaming 'journalism'

Personally I don't think that that's really essential to the review. Basically you just have a bunch of costumes for your characters (which is fairly standard), and if it doesn't really mean anything to the game, then why bother saying it? And the "value" that is added to the game with those costumes speaks more about how overpriced those costumes really are.

That Game Informer can't get their facts straight is something else of course.

Well when people review Smash Bros they generally discuss the various costumes for each character, then why would this be any different?  Short answer is it's simply not and the reviewers are not doing their jobs which is informing the reader.  I believe you've just gotten to used to these slack asses not reviewing with you in mind

IMO. They just copy one another.

If one source review first, the others would just rip off that and reworded. Hence, they are all the same.

Different strokes I guess. I don't really care about how many costumes there are at all, so I don't feel I'm missing out.

Isn't the "Super" Street fighter IV on consoles the one with all the DLCs and stuff?, isn't this one the same?

Huh, i guess Nintendo gamers are finally getting some value from 3rd parties: something the PS360 gamers had to pay upwards of $100 for (game and all DLC) we get for $40

Much more appetizing than EA's full-price-then-free bait-and-switch

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

@OP, Street Fighter Alpha 3 on GBA was the last one, though I can't recall if Capcom vs SNK 2: EO came out before or after it.
