Forums - Gaming - Hows enslaved?

no offense but there has been far too many Is Enslave good threads.

While i haven't played it i haven't heard the Platforming is redunant since you cant jump anywhere that isn't the right one. So basically its impossible to fail at the platfoming making it not platforming. And there are glitches. But i heard the characters are well done and there is something for the story people.

The story and graphics are decent, but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. You literally only press the jump button and the direction you *think* you're supposed to go in, and just keep mashing that button as Monkey does his thing. It's mind-numbing, really, and it gave me a headache playing the game because it took no brain power. The fighting was bland and straight forward. You can just bash and bash your way through every enemy.

Not worth the "free" price I paid when I borrowed this game from a friend. I want those hours of my life back. :(

thats kinder how i felt playing Black Ops but not only did my mind go numb i also got an headache and felt an bit sick by the end of that mess. I could of studied more and got an better mark then waste the 4 hours i spent on that over hyped mess.

Isn't that the worst feeling ever? When you're doing such repetitive, mind-numbing stuff and you get the nastiest headache. It's almost like nausea.

And yeah, I completely felt the same way playing Black Ops too. I'm super excited for Battlefield 3 though, it looks really promising so far. ^_^

Man, being enslaved sucks. Don't even sell yourself to someone.

pro:

good facial animations
decent graphics (though still some very low res parts and missing AA AFAIR. UE3 after all)
decent story
likeable characters
nice levels
good voice acting (based on the German version, but I've seen the GT review and it seemed pretty good there as well)

cons:

mediocre battle system
almost no enemy variety
platforming is waaaay to easy. (you can basically close your eyes and press A a couple of times)
overall lack of variety (expect to do the same things everytime you enter a new area)

To sum it up, it's a decent game and definitely worth 20 bucks. Don't expect too much and better play it in several smaller sessions.

It is good, but feels incomplete. IMO, it had potential but suffered from lazy designing, programming ans storytelling. I preferred Vanquish.

Loved it, was a pleasant surprise. Good story, interesting characters, good surround sound, very colorful, beautiful level design. Good enough for me to hang on to it to replay again later instead of trading it in.

Only negative for me was the engine strugling during the cut scenes. Would have been better if they were pre-rendered with the detail and aa cranked up.

Platforming is easy overall but there are still a few tricky sections were you have to time it right or be fast enough.

The battle system was good enough for me. It's no rpg, but there are more options then just shooting people with a slightly different gun. It's not a difficult game by far but you won't get very far either in the second half of the game just mashing the same button.

Not to sound like a troll...

I went to Best Buy last week and had this game ready to buy for 20$, I looked at the front and I saw the "Free Sexy Outfit!" thing and imagined walking up to the cashier with that. It was in big freaking letters,a giant picture, and had it plastered to the box. I thought it about it. I looked at the back. I put it down and thought.

Nope.

And that's how I got Bad Company 2, and in retrospect I should have bought Yakuza 4 or Mafia 2 and got Enslaved used (who knew that BC2 need 1.7 gigs to update...) That way I wouldn't be walking out of Best Buy feeling like some creep with a videogame that says "Free Sexy Outfit!" on the front like it's the main feature of the game.LESSON TO BEST BUY: DO NOT PUT A GIANT PICTURE OF THIS ON THE FRONT IN A VAIN ATTEMPT TO SELL ME A GAME!
