Don't be so sure about that, the DS took the longest to do really good there, while it was fastly adopted in other places. The GBA actually outsold the DS for more than one year there.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Yakuza 3 did 40k FW in Americas... Yakuza 4 did 20k... That is what im talking about. Should have be higher, not lower!

Again...different situation.

GT5 up 400k on GT4. If it continues on a 15-20k weekly status, it should still be able to stay ahead of it through holiday 2011 (where I think that will be the determing factor as to whether or not it can clear it lifetime). I'm not holiding my breath on it, but rather feel GT5 can settle between 10 & 10.5mill. |
It definitely will. It only need 420k up until the start of December to do that. That's not its main problem, though, but that GT4 is hugely outlegging it.
GT5's first week ending 25th March - its 20th week - it sold 20,840 units.
GT4's second year week ending 25th March - its 57th week - it sold 44,860 units
GT4's third year week ending 25th March - its 109th week - it sold somewhere around 25,000 units (from week 107-113 it averaged 25k)
In GT4's 109th week, it sold more than GT5 did in its 20th. That really doesn't bode too well for GT5.
So GT5 is going to be (roughly) tied with GT4 by the end of this year, and from there on in I just don't see GT5 managing anywhere close to GT4's sales.
On a completely different note, Mario Kart Wii's sales are horrible. It's down nearly 50% on last year. At this rate, it might not make 35 million. It's being outsold by New Super Mario Bros. DS!
It's going to be interesting to see whether New Super Mario Bros. Wii can outsell New Super Mario Bros. DS, too. They're both going to end up around 30 million, both most likely a bit above it.

Well, sometimes when games sell over 25 million there tends to be something called saturation...
whos first place this week? PS3. whos the last place home console? Xbox 360 :(
I trust no one, not even myself.great week for halo reach. GT5 is slowing but it is more of a holiday game. Many "none gamers" want it, so I'm assuming sales will jump a lot over the holidays. If they do it will reach 10mil, if not, it might not. GT5 and halo reach are showing pretty interesting sales because they keep flip flopping compared to their predecesor's sales. Though GT5 seems to have stabalized below gt4 while halo reach numbers are still pretty irratic.
Pokemon has the best second week ever suprise suprise, and just dance 2 is putting every single other game released in 2010/2011 to shame in terms of legs.
Killzone 3 week 4 is higher then week 3. Pretty crazy. Passes 1mil as well.
Homefront(360) has a nearly identical week 1 to killzone 3, though I doubt it will hold up as well as killzone 3 has so far.

I agree if adjustments never exists... wait a little more the new PD numbers and my nem thread "GT5 4th MASSIVE ADJUSTMENTS".
