Super Street Fighter IV

Closing Comments
Porting a 360/PS3 fighting game to a portable comes with a cost. Capcom has attempted to minimize these sacrifices as much as possible. In some cases the changes actually improve the experience. The addition of the touch controls, in particular Lite mode, will open up Street Fighter to a whole new audience. Plus being able to execute fireballs with one button is a lot of fun. In other cases, these changes are for the worse – once you notice the static backgrounds, you’ll have trouble looking away. But all in all, this is a great game. It’s not only the best launch game for the Nintendo 3DS, but will certainly be regarded as a great purchase for years to come.

8.0 Presentation
There is a ton here for players to explore, and the addition of figurine mode is welcome, even if it is a bit limited.
7.0 Graphics
The important stuff made the transition reasonably intact, but stilted backgrounds are rough to watch. The framerate hit because of 3D is a shame.
7.0 Sound
Certainly serviceable with some memorable background music. The inability to hear Japanese voice acting is a bummer.
9.0 Gameplay
Street Fighter has always been a spectacular fighting game, and this version will be more appealing to a wider audience because of touch controls. The hardcore will prefer the consoles.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
There is a ton to do here, both for those just wanting to fight and those wanting other stuff to do. Collecting 500 figures, even if not for battle, will take a while.

Pro Evo Soccer 2011

Closing Comments
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D makes a strong debut on the 3DS, and of all the launch titles available it puts forward one of the strongest arguments for Nintendo’s brave new vision of the future. It’s a couple of features short of being a classic, but its compelling game of football has found a comfortable home on the handheld. It suggests that greater things are to come from this relationship, but there’s enough here to keep players going until then.

Slick front-end that makes the most of its few licenses.
7.0 Graphics
It's handsome from afar as well as up close. A good starting point for the 3DS.
7.5 Sound
It benefits from a small slice of licensed music, but the commentary is, as ever, dreadful.
8.5 Gameplay
PES's formula shrinks down neatly to a handheld, and it makes the transition pretty much intact.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
There's plenty of solo content, though the omission of online dents the lasting appeal a little.

And for those that care the final Nintendo launch title, yet again got a 7.0

If your kids missed the first Nintendogs (and that was over five years ago, so there are likely many new gamers who did), then Nintendogs Cats is a suitably adorable little pet sim to have for the game's launch, that they're likely to love. There's something kind of addictive about teaching your fake dog new tricks. For repeat customers, unless your kid is still playing the first game religiously, I don't see the upgraded version holding their interest for nearly as long.

Easy to navigate, with a nice clean interface, and a friendly tone.
6.0 Graphics
The dogs are soooo cute, But this isn't a technically impressive game.
6.5 Sound
Some soothing music, and a lot of yap and purrs.
7.0 Gameplay
Charming and fun casual pet sim, but ultimately shallow.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
Lots of items to collect, but it gets boring if you've already played the previous game.

Don't agree with some details of the SSFIV review or Nintendogs, but it's whatever to me this is just for those curious about the higher rated games rather than all the 7.0s IGN is handing out because a hang glider handles like a hang glider

That IS a starting point to some of the issues I had with these reviews
