That is the one weakness of KBM... If the game involves driving or flying controls, the all-or-nothing input of a key and steering with a mouse is complete shit.

In situations like that, a KBM+flight stick is the only way to go on PC.

Yah flight stick is pretty damn sweet :P Try playing MMO's with them!!!! Oh it's so much fun :D

Bod, it sounds like you bought into that myth of " the PS3 having no games!" especially judging from this line ;):

"Thus far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, for those who care. I wasn't expecting to play this many games this quickly"

Yeah, if you had been there since there since April you would obviously been less pleased.

Fortunately the myth is slowly dying out, the start of next year. For a launch PS3 adopter like me, its been a struggle to not say "fuck it! gimme a 360 box". But I look back and know that the 360 had a similiar start with nothing but lack lusters.

By the time Home and online play comes fully up and running, MGS4 & Co. gets released, the attitude towards the PS3 should be stabilized.

Uh, that's not a Myth then... if it was true but they are fixing it. That's a fact that's thankfully being allievated.

Not a fact, my friend. You're conciously dancing between the thin line of being objective and subjective. And dont twist my words into a different context.

The are now games worthy of justifying a PS3 purchase without feeling regret.

You could go back and look at the launch thinking from a subjective angle whether that time's PS3 purchase would be worth it. Depending on who you are those games up till the september period could appeal to a gamer, who may or may have not felt satisfied with his purchase.

It is a myth. I still see the "hardcore" supporters of other consoles push oh-so regularly that single meaningless sentence : " the PS3 has NO games!". To some gamers this is favourable to remain as it is. So they is push it around as much as they possible can.

The problem in the game situation isn't so much with the people just now buying the PS3 as it has a small library now, but with the people that have had the PS3 for a while.  Essentially it's the same problem the Wii had for a while and that's a game drought.  Games were released so slowly that gamers became bored with the PS3's selection in between releases.  This lead to comments about each console having "no games."

If you're just now buying a PS3, of course there are lots of games to play.  However, Sony and 3rd parties need to continue to produce games quickly enough that there's always something new and interesting to play so that PS3 owners don't get bored.

My PSN is Anticipations.

I agree.
Yes, they do need to do so indeed. I also think Sony already foresaw that the release of their games would take more time than estimated. Which is why they bought temporary exclusivity of Haze and UT3 to keep gamers occupied till, for example GT5:p & Devil May Cry 4. Those games will be out soon-ish to complete those gamers hunger for yet another while. Another thing to keep PS3 gamers stay excited about their purchase are revealings of new games that appeal to them. Depending on what kind of showing Sony will have they won't necessary have to pop games out every month, to keep PS3 owners proud of their console.
I want to see if it pays off though.

So, here are the games I've tried thus far on my PS3!

(rented) Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Good game, the dialogue is good (and as noted, I rarely like dialogue in games), largely because it stays silly and light. Having just come off Galaxy I'm a little less impressed than I otherwise would be, but it's still the second best platformer I've played in the last three years.

(own) Everyday Shooter

I was less impressed with this than I thought I would be, but it's not bad by any means. A good time waster -- I was simply expecting something a bit more due to the hype.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Yes, I know this is old, but hot diggity do I still love this game. Some games age well, others do not: this one still shines.

(rented) Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

I can tell this is a good game, but it's just not for me. I don't enjoy the story and aiming with analog sticks just infuriates me.

(own) Super Stardust HD:

This is the best game I've played thus far, and is definitely in my top ten games of the year, if not my top 5. Great stuff, I'm very impressed.

(own) Planet Earth:

Yes, this is a Blu Ray movie and not a game, but I wanted to point out that I AM using the HD features of this console (it was my primary reason for getting it really, since I just got a 50'' HDTV), and goodness does this movie look good in HD. It's definitely the ideal "see how good HD looks?" movie.

Thus far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, for those who care. I wasn't expecting to play this many games this quickly -- due to my hardcore MMORPG/FPS roots, I rarely play more than 10 games a year -- but I've enjoyed expirementing and already found a few gaming gems (I'll be playing Super Stardust months from now) to go along with my new HD player. In short: even for someone like me that isn't immediately interested in the main Playstation fare (Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and other story driven action/epic games), there is enough on the PS3 to make a person happy.

Cool. I'm playing Galaxy right now and I think it's the second best platformer I've played in the last few years ;) Ratchet being the first for me. I loved Uncharted except for a few minor issues and I agree 100% with you on Super Stardust HD, it's great.

Hey bod, are you going to get warhawk or resistance? Also, would you get ratchet again?

Lastly, I'll be sending you a friend request soon.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Bodhesatva, are you planning to buy any of the games you rented?  I'd really like to see another Ratchet and Clank on the PS3...

I doubt i'd buy Ratchet, guys. I might rent it again, though (I've beaten it).

My next purchase is going to be Warhawk, in all likelihood or VF5 if I get tired of waiting for my 360.  But for now, I'm content working through Castlevania and playing SSD :)

Poor Ratchet and Clank.  It's so fun yet its sales are sad.
