There are much bigger issues with the design, trying to pick stuff up is often much more of a hassle than it shoul be, enemy targeting is eratic often targeting an enemy behind the one just in front of you, doorways are a pain, just about everything to do with inventory management is a pain in the arse, having the potion ingredients defaulting back to the top ingrediant so if you want to use your heavy monster parts to make potionsbombs and free up weight you have to switch all the ingrediants every time as it defaults to the weightless flowers etc |
That was just a brief example, and you just said it yourself, that's 3 clicks to get to your abilities (I didn't even know that I had something that gave me 10% to humanoids until the end of the game for example because of how deep this menu was buried). I can add an even bigger problem with the UI and controls, but at least we agree that controls and UI are pretty lacklustre.

Oh there is no arguing that the controls and UI are anything but lacklustre at least while using the mouse and keyboard. But I don't think knowing you had a 10% bonus really had any real impact on how you would have played tho... It's a rather irrelevent stat and frankly 3 button presses is not that many compaired to how many it take to drink a potion for example, something that you do far more often, at least if you actually decided to use potions half the time I just didn't bother as most fights could be ended quicker with a trap a couple bombs and sone hack and slash to mop up.

Bad example with the 10% damage bonus. However I had Assassin which means I did 50% more damage from behind with backstab moves. THat would have been nicer to know earlier on so I could prioretize it better.

How does one earn such bonuses? |
Apparently you have to find the dead Altair in the prologue and it just gives it to you.

next patch is a big one coming tomorrow
Some traders also provide barbershop services. For a small fee, Geralt can get them to change his hairstyle. Search notice boards for information about barbers and coiffeuses offering services of this nature in a given location. In Flotsam, in Chapter 1 of the game, these services are available from the antique book dealer Einar Gausel. In Chapter 2, look either for Sambor in Henselt’s Camp or for Felicia Cori in Vergen. This apprentice sorceress also provides hairstyling services in Loc Muinne, in Chapter 3 of the game.
All previously released DLC packages are installed with Patch 1.2:
