Forums - Nintendo - Pokmeon Blue goes multiplatform(threw piracy) making me buy heart gold.

apparently now people can play pokemon on their blackberries. over the last couple of days everyone at my school who has a blackberry got the game and started playing it. they played it in class, in recess, and went to the bathroom just to complete a gym. i just discovered how much i missed the games, so im getting my sisters ds and im going to start heart gold or souls silver!

now all the people who mocked pokemon love it.

hopefully my sister wont find out that im using her ds.

stares at my phone's pokemon blue thats been on it for months. It went multiplatform a long time ago. The people who mock it are the ones who don't like how outragious the new ones have gotten. The newer pokemon are just plain stupid. Thats why in many highschools you will see waves of students start playing their old gameboy games around the middle of the school year when school starts getting really boring.

No wonder. People at my school are all no good losers who hate Pokemon because it's for teh kiddies yet I still saw someone playing it on their phone. I was wondering what the deal was.

Nintendo had better get the 3DS with Pokemon RBYGSC on VC quick. This is a massive opportunity!

I can't believe how many ridiculous people there are who prefer the beyond terrible Gen I to the awesome new ones, though I suppose it might raise the series' popularity in general.

And now I see why you got SoulSilver, ;).

There are a large number of students at your school with BlackBerries? I never really saw it prevalent at all student phone.

I've seen pokemon emulations on phones for years, it's always an evergreen time waster and nostalgia inducer.

I experienced that big time last year, my freshman year. One month before HG/SS releases, everyone broke out their Gameboy line systems or emulators and started playing pokemon. Red, Blue, the couple of admired Yellows, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Golden Sun and Fire Emblem also were revived a few times.

Funnily enough, this year, it was discovered that somehow many of the cross country team owned a Fire Emblem game on the GBA, (it's not THAT common!) and the last couple months have been a strong revival of that.

I have to wonder what might be revived next year.

School is the portable game's saviour around here. Band has MarioKart sessions sometimes.

Through, not threw.

Threw is the past tense of throw, as in to throw a ball.

Anyhoo, that's cool I guess but playing it on a blackberry/iPhone, etc. would ruin the experience for me. I love the game too much to see it get butchered on a smartphone.

It's also for PC...

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Um, you can play the GBA games too. At least on Android phones. There is also a DS emulator but apparently it runs like crap. Haven't tried it myself.

Actually the first time I played Pokemon was Pokemon Red pirated in 1995 before its release in North America. At the time I did not have a GameBoy and little income. However after playing it on PC I bought it and a GameBoy shortly after release.

Honestly alot of people claim that the origionals were far better due to only 150-Pokemon because it was less complex and complicated. Everyone knew all 150 Pokemon, I admit the origional was very enjoyable but I don't think the newer ones are any less so.

Though I must admit now that its at what the 620 Pokemon, I don't know all of them by name infact I only know the first 250-300 Pokemon by name. But thats part of the enjoyment of playing the game with so many species and Pokemon to choose from its amazing to me.

I always dreamed that one day their would be 1,000 Pokemon. It seems that day might come true. Not to mention sales show that the new games are just as popular as ever.

Its been pretty common, we played pokemon red with friends on our last year in school and named pokemon with silly names and things like that. It was like a revival of the times we were 9 or 10 and played them for the first time.

While the enthusiasm may be less, its still fun to play them, and nostalgia is  a thing that helps and I think it explains why people prefer(or at least I) the old games, add to that that you dont need a gameboy anymore and its as accessible as playing brick breaker on the blackberry, and you dont need a superphone given that the games dont requiere much.
