I'm hoping all this stuff will be used on games other than FPS games.  Unfortunately, I see non-FPS / non-Casual being a very small niche next gen.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

We really don't know if this is actually next gen, that will be determined by what the console makers actually set it at, and FPS is headed towards the same oversaturation -> decline cycle that other dominant genres have found (which isn't to say it goes away forever, but just becomes another genre)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lol what does that mean? Only a fraction of all games are first person shooters or casual games.

You can always count on Epic to be focusing on graphics and power.

Looks good, and on current gen PC hardware (3 Nvidia 580 GTXs) and still technically Unreal Engine 3. Shows how scalable the engine is now.

I wish they'd worry more about this generation of gaming, as I have no desire to spend that much money on a system that can render stuff like that in real time.  maybe in a few years when the tech is cheaper, but not now.

although this does look amazing

diminishing returns

Was that suppose to impress me are something? what about gameplay,etc.etc.

The hell.... I just hope those won't need an SLI set up for current GPUs to be able to run those smoothly. The thought of it makes me a sad panda.
