Truthfully I think it's mostly the title of your thread that people are having a hard time with; "flop" is just not the best term to use.  Both of these games put together may not sell like NSMB DS, but most companies would kill to have their games perform like these two will.

Kinda make me wanna blow up those people's faces if they're the same ones who cry for "innovation!" on just about any other game or console.

As long as there are mutliple ways to kill enemies then I'll be happy - that is what can prevent enemies feeling like "puzzles."

The whole point of wii motion plus is to mkae you feel "free"  If I can only slash a certain way then I won't always feel free.  As long as they keep that in mind and give me a balance of freedom and restriction in how I can kill then I'll be interested.

I mean god dammit this is the game I've been waiting for since I first heard about the Wii remote.  I hope they deliver and make it feel "free."

Super Mario Advance is sitting at 5.49 million; however, we'll be generous and use Super Mario Sunshine as our barometer for minimum success, here.

So:

You put forth that the 3D Mario on the 3DS will sell less than 6.28 million units during the life of its original release.

You put forth that Skyward Sword will sell less than 3.36 million units during the life of its original release.

Is this a fair summary?

(for the record: I'm not convinced concerning your reasoning for their selling below par within the context of their own series, and I'm less convinced that you have any concrete indication of their sales expectations from within Nintendo - though I wil grant that Nintendo probably expects them to move more numbers than you do)
