3ds software numbers dont add up to hardware. there were 370k 3ds sold but all 3ds games added together are about 330k. by logic some people buy more than one game and there is not every 3ds game in the list probably which would leaves 40k to 50k people who bought a 3ds without a game.

An attack ratio of around 1 game per 1 console is perfectly healthy for a launch.

And the software inside the top 20 adds up to 361k and that's excluding the shitty dinosaur game.

(Actually you might be right about the 330k - but that's still close!)

They don't have to buy 3DS games for the 3DS, when it's fully BC.

If none of the launch games interested them but games coming out are, then that gives you your explanation.

So much for Disgaea 4 saving NIS xD

Multiplatform Wii titles sell like shit, this system is truly dead.

Catherine had an even bigger drop than The Last Story.

The true 3DS rival won't be NGP but PSP. Nintendo needs NGP to weakening the mighty PSP lol

Very solid  Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition sales.

I can't believe we have already started a new generation, it seems that it was yesterday when both NDS and PSP were released :(

I'm impressed by the weekly sales preview. It had the order of the top 5 games right. Spot on with the 1st two games' numbers, very close with Layton, a little off with DIsgaee 4 and Nintendogs, but still very good for estimates.

For this week's numbers I'm impressed by how well all hardware held up, I don't think there were any big drops despite the 3DS this week.

I think it is a good start for 3DS, I expected some of the software numbers to be a little higher, but having 6 titles in the top 20 is a good start. Will be interesting to see how it does in the following weeks.

DS outsells the Wii in the week its successor is launched. That's terrible.

Moving onto SW sales, it's looking like COMGNET is getting as reliable as it gets on ratios and openings. Looking at the data on the COMG thread I said I expected SD Gundam G on the PSP to outsell the Wii version by a 7:1 rato, and that's exactly what happened. Also, Rune Factory Oceans on the PS3 to outsell the Wii version by 3:1 and happened as well.
The point system in COMG is not linear, but once you get used to it, save for a few exceptions, it works like wonders.

Not looking good for the Wii these upcomig months, and now 3DS is going to hurt even more.

Yep, for core games it is extremely reliable once you know how to interpret the data.

I like the 3DS Pac-man.

Above: still the best game of the year.

should be somewhere about 340k sure its healthy its just i thought i would be equal to the number of consoles sold maybe a bit higher

According to VGChartz numbers:

GBA launch --- 660,354 / total software sales --- 721,700

NDS launch --- 458,825 / total software sales --- 455,491

PSP launch --- 163,812 / total software sales --- 138,668

Not too bad for Rune Factory: Oceans, at least they will break-even.

Rune Factory Frontier (Wii) --- 18,240 / 41,170

Rune Factory: Oceans (PS3 - Wii) --- 39,434 /
