PS2 launched in March (JP) October (NA) and November (Europe). So it was a Japan Exclusive for the majority of the year. It was only available in NA for 3 moths and Europe for 2 moths.

3DS launched  in February (JP), and March (Everywhere else). So it will be available WW for the majority of the year.

Not that I agree with his prediction, but I highly doubt that 3DS will do better than the home consoles this year, supply constraints and the first 3 months disadvantage will play in favour of the consoles, don't know if DS will trump 3DS too, but highly likely it will, only beating PSP in it's first year - again due to supply constraint and the head start that other consoles and a handheld got. Just my opinion. Wiii will probably be on top again, but by a much shorter margin this time.

I see it being pretty huge, espescially come the holiday

It will be huge, just not as huge as it could be. I don't think Nintendo can ship 3DS and count the money it brings fast enough :L

Quite possible, I think Nintendo is confident in their product

What happens to the loser (you)?

So...the bet is you say that 360 will outsell Wii in America by January 1st 2014. If you want we can just say that you think 360 will outsell Wii in America lifetime...Its basicly the same thing but you get until they both stop selling. What do you want to do? 

Also, since that bet is very far away LOL...do you want to make a bet for 2011? I bet that Wii will outsell XBox 360 in America in 2011. You in?

even DS in it second year(first year in europe) sold 10,5mln in 3 quarters.also estimated 9% people can't see the 3D effect and another 15% at least don't care about 3D.for those people it will be another DS with less software and higher price then original DS.i don't see it selling better than Wii,Xbox 360 or PS3 but it have some chances selling better than DS(but i wouldn't bet my money on it)

Depends on price cuts.  Assuming all three major consoles get price cuts of some sort:

1. 3DS

2. PS3

3. 360

4. Wii

5. PSP

6. DS

7. NGP

This is based off the current sales trends of each console so far this year, combined with the upcoming line up of each console.  Essentially, I expect the 360 and Wii to slowly trend downward over the next two quarters (until the release of Gears 3 in the 360's case, and until the holidays in the Wii's case - barring any surprise Nintendo releases), while the ps3's sales will be sustained via Sony's strong first party line up.  I think it'll trend downard to a degree, but not as drastically as the others.  Overall sales should be pretty close between the three.

Then there's the variable of price cuts.  I expect all three consoles will get price cuts between Q3-Q4.  It may actually be whichever price cut comes first that decides this threeway race.

Speaking of price cuts, the effectiveness of the PSP's price cut combined with the waning sales of the DS in a 3DS world will determine which of those two sells better for the year.

I'm also assuming the 3DS will retain the popularity of the DS.  For all I know, the high price point and it's initially small library could inhibit its sales somewhat.  I think 10 million is guaranteed, but how the public reacts to these factors will determine if it can get closer to 20 million.
