I think that either this year, or early next year, we'll see a drop to $249.99. This will not happen until the system can be sold for, at worst, break-even at this price. It will take over a year to see it go sub-$200, so I'll say 2nd-half CY 2013.

I have no faith at all in that announcement. 300GB drives are not common enough for Sony to use those; they'd sooner go 320, a more common size, and one Sony is already familiar with.

Definitely. However, it wouldn't surpise m if they DID release a hack-proof console, but some of the details in that thread seem a bit...fishy to me.
