Hell no, 360 has a dvd drive even if it's selling well now in a few months when kinect dies down it will drop in sales and ps3 isn't down much in sales yoy at all, I really don't see how you can even think that and 360 still has the 200 model so it's not outselling ps3 at a higher price range and there are plenty of bundles and deals on 360 too not to mention everything you said is limited to the USA not even all of NA worldwide is a totally different story

i wouldnt say finish him because of a dvd drive. Blu-ray hasnt won that fight yet and by the time it does, digital will be the standard imo

1. digitals will not be the standard until the whole world is covered in a fast wifi, right now you can't even stream the same quality as blu ray in the best network of the world, never mind the places where there isn't even a network and nevermind affordable

2. I'm not talking about movies, I'm talking about games, dvd has been holding games back, it is one of the reasons ps3 exclusives look better and have alot more content and contributes to them being (tehcnically/potentially) better games and digial download on home consoles is not going to be the standard this gen you'd need atleast a 1TB drive for that to be possible and 1TB would be a small one

i'm not sure about that, but the point is there.

Ever heard of hard drives, hard drives are killing dvds/blu-ray paint whatever picture you want. You dont have to stream, you dont stream blu-rays from the store, you download then play. Pretty easy.

Not saying it will  be standard this gen, far from it, it wont be standard next gen eitehr, though what will happen imo is digital distribution will have a much larger showing, you can already download full games from the web off xbla or psn, not sure about wii ware, but i dont think, not wii games anyway.

And gaming has one 100 percent to do with format of movies if we are indeed talking about formats, dvds will decide whether blu-rays will stick to ps3 next gen, or if they do a more universal concept or whatever. If DVD wins, it affects both consoles.

Harddrives are not killing blu rays, harddrives are bigger yes but blu rays are infantly cheaper then a comparable size/physical size harddrive and the speed issue is still there with downloading, most of the consumer base doesn't have the connection to download that high quality within a resonable amount of time and in 10 years most of them still won't especially in other areas in the world one or two games is one thing but if you put every full game on your harddrive it would fill up incredibly fast not to mention the whole having to download that much, unlimited internet still has caps for downloading and you'd reach them

Movies have nothing to do with medium for gaming, several times companies have used unique mediums for games, (gamecube, snes, genesis, psp ect) so even if dvd won movies for the next million years blu ray would still be better for games because it gives the developers more room to work and make a better game

Maybe....Maybe not. I just don't want them to come out with a new console for atleast 2-3 years. So hopefully both companies keep on supporting their respective consoles.

Well personally I think that PS3 being a BluRay player and it's increased disc size gives it more longevity so I'd say no on features.  But longer selling power is still up in the air and Kinect is doing really good, so in the end who knows.

I would say MAYBE.  Its too early to tell at the moment but I work for Gamestop and you are right, there is virtually zero stock on 360's without Kinect in NA so it currently is selling around a similar price point.

Still?

I dunno if I believe you. Always these stories of X360 shortages, I find them hard to believe...

  • pretty much all last month ps3 had a $50 discount in the USA

What does this mean?

360s sales for there 300 and 400 buck kinect bundles accounted for about 220k of there recent npd of 380k meaning 160k where 199 arcades and 299 250gb stand alone or two free game console skus

givin the fact the the $299 360 comes with a bigger HDD than the $299 PS3 and in some cases two games if you imagine things being "equalized" as said in here the sales in the 360s strongest region wouldn't be that much higher than the PS3

woah, where did you get those numbers?
