Ouch dude tough story, just don't go all suicidal, at the end of the day it's not worth it and you do have your whole life ahead of you, unless you're like 60, in which case that was pretty badly handled, and you're also a paedo :p.

I no expert by a mile in these kind of situation. People need to see the worst before they'll realize what they have missed out on. I'm a firm believer that you can grow to love someone, so maybe you admitted your feelings may have planted a seed on her heart. If I was in your position just be the bigger person and tell her that you'll be there for her no matter what (even if she doesn't share the same feelings as you). Also learn to respect yourself more you sound like an awesome person and hopefully you'll find that special someone who will see that very quality.

Do something special for your mom and reassure her that you wouldn't do something that stupid anymore.

Thanks for sharing your story. You handled it all well, there's nothing strange about how you felt and behaved. You can soon be happy that you confessed your love to her in that very vulnerable moment. You will learn how hard that is (and how tricky love is by its own nature) and with time you will realize that you have to protect your own feelings better in the future, but without getting too bitter or cynical (yet still maintain being optimistic and bold when contacting women).

You're only 17, you have the world in front of you. There's millions of other fine chicks out there.

nah. maybe actually only a couple. but what the OP described, i dont believe any of them felt. thats an incredible amount of emotion to have for one person.

except one guy, but he fucked me around something awful before we were even close friends. we became close eventually (as mates), then he told me what he'd done and soon after that he told me he was in love with me. and i know i could never trust him so i had to say that as much as i liked him back, i couldnt love him after that. but thats a story for another day.
