My favourite game ever is Final Fantasy X.

And i know this can be topped, if a Final Fantasy VII remake came out on the PS4 (because the PS3 aint getting it) and it was everything everyone always wanted from a remake. Voice acting, better graphics than Advent Children, New Towns and New optional stories on the World Map.

Then i cant see how that wouldnt surpass FFX easily.

On a side note, my favourite game this gen (and my second favourite overall) is MGS4, i doubt any PS3 game will top that for me, however Metal Gear Rising stands a chance, and being as Batman Arkham Asylum is my second favourite PS3 game then its possible Batman Arkham City can surpass MGS4. I dont think it will but right now its by far the closest game to doing it.

I'm more than just a game, mainly because of the story / characters , when you play me it feels like reading a book  ... an experience .The last guardian or FF type-0 might take my spot but it's very very unlikely , anyways, I will be topped next year .... Guess who am I ? 

Valkyria Chronicles?

Which reminds me why on earth I didn't buy Valkyria Chronicles yet :( !!

Like many have pointed out nostalgia plays a part.

Its been 11 years since i first played the almighty Shenmue, and no game since then has given me the same level of personal joy, sadness and general mass levels of varying emotions.

It was a rollercoaster ride and i dearly miss the Shenmue franchise.

On a side note, Yu Suzuki (the creator of Shenmue) is receiving the pioneer award at this years GDC (an award that pretty much confirms the genius of this man) heres a link that explains why this award is thoroughly deserved.....

Zelda: Wind Waker

I wouldn't be surprised if it is topped, but such a game has got to be godly in order to achieve it

My favorite game of all time is Final Fantasy VI and I doubt it will ever be topped for me.

Not only is there the nostalgia factor but that's also the game that inspired me to write (even though I'm a bad writer but a good story teller which did great for DnD), play more games, and even get into the games industry.  I don't think there will ever be another game that affects me more.

Ico or Shadow of the Colossus?

Regularly. For me a new experience is almost always preferable over replaying an old game/movie. Not knowing what's going to happen is the most fun and can unfortunately only be experienced once.

If I could wipe my memory I would first watch princess mononoke and spirited away again then play ico and sotc followed by grim fandango, windwaker and start a new character in everquest.

I'll still replay ico and sotc when the HD remake comes out, same as I also rebuy HD releases of my favourite movies, but it never beats the first experience.

The best games for me are the ones I want to play as slow as possible, dreading the moment I'll reach the end credits. The last game that did that for me was Okami. Thankfully that was a pretty long game.

I'm hoping The last guardian will be able to take the crown.

Shadow of the Colossus was the one before it but not anymore , both SoC and ICO barely had a story / characters

I'm kind of surprised that people took me seriously
