I wish you the best of luck!

I played EA sports active a lot during this winter cause I couldn't get out running.. it helped me keeping me in shape but I want to advice you to replace the rubber band with a stronger one.. the one coming with the game is a bit cheap..

I know that you said that you don't want to do a diet...But I recommend you an metabolism diet...  Don't worry you still can eat a lot of stuff you like the only difference is that you try eat thing that boost your metabolism....And I guess you also want to burn fat right?

Just look the things up that boost your metabolism and try to eat less of the things that decrease your metabolism..   That is basically what people do in Gyms to use their fat to create muscles;.

Sadly you can't play Dance Dance revolution...it is really one of the games that make me sweat easily ^^'..

Hmm maybe you should look up if you can use the dance mat on your laptop?  You download Stepmania (legally) for free it is just like Dance Dance Revolution the only difference it is free and their are more than 10.000 songs for it...So you could maybe go to a place with your laptop (around your neighbourhood) and play it their;..Also very addicting ^^';

I didn't mean I can play it at all, just not a lot.

Well then for sure check if you can use the dance mat/pad on your laptop :).. Nothing is so fun to exercise on songs you like...  Last summer I spend hours a day just dancing on songs of games I like Zelda/Pokemon/MGS/FF/ etc..  Just don't film it =p.

This is truly intersting to me, leaving a mark so I can come back and read the updates!

Good luck!

Throw some weight lifting in there. Lean muscle is the key to burning more fat during exercises.

This!

This experiment is just with video games. But I can allow accessories, so I will look into the Wii dumbell attachments.

This is what I do since some of the exercises don't feel like anything much (then again I only have Wii Fit ). Though I just got some wrist/ankle weights rather than the wiimote specific stuff.

As far as diets go, it's mostly the sugars to watch out for, especially fructose (notably the corn fructose syrup but also given the choice between fruit and fruit juice, go for the fruit).

Good luck!

Wii Fit does seem to be more general exercises than intense ones. Some sessions with We Cheer and the dance games can really make me sweat.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Frankly I barely do the cardio stuff on WiiFit, and the balance ones I keep for when I need a break. Yoga sometimes, but mostly the strenght ones and they can be pretty taxing with the extra weights (also a lot of them are sort of slow and to me it seems the slow movements take more).

Cardio... well, I live next to a park so I just occasionally jog, and cardio does burn up quite a bit, but my BMI is like 20 so I mostly exercise to keep some muscles in check rather than for weight loss. Still, like it was already mentioned, muscles are key for 24/7 faster metabolism, so don't limit yourself with just cardio.

I own both Golds Gym Cardio Workout and Wii Fit.  I have been alternating between the two since January 1st (new years resolution) with a 25-30 min workout 5-6 times a week.

With this regimen and keeping my caloric intake under 2000 calories daily I have gone from 188lbs to 173.  In addtion, I believe I have put on some muscle.

cool thread, i used to play soooo much stepmania it was retarded. like 10 hours a week for like 4 years. i also weight lift though, i just played sm cuse it was fun, but it does work up a sweat.

i know you said this is an experiemantjust using fitness games, but if you do lose weight, i would encourage you too eventually start lifting weights/going to a gym/running outside. but good luck regardless, and dont give up. i remember i once missed 3 weeks of working out after lifting for like 3 years straight i thought i was never going to go again, thank goodness i did, very hard to start once youve stopped for awhile though.

Everyday I'm hustlin'.

Wii and DS owner.

I maybe the last person to give you any advice, but I only have Wii Sports (yes, it's a shame), just the boxing game actually made me and my sister sweat.

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!
