Forums - General - What do you think of Canada?

axumblade said:

It's the country my bf's dad keeps threatening to move to every time Obama does something he hates...

I have nothing against Canada. One of my favorite movies is based in Canada (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).

Also, one can assume this video is an accurate depiction of Halifax....

Seriously though, one of my best friends married a girl from Canada though and she is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. I like to pretend everyone from Canada is just as awesome as she is to be honest.

I walk by the places Scott Pilgrim vs the World was filmed all the time. I think I recall seeing them make that movie there, but I really dunno what they were filming. That staricase that one evil boyfriend died on, it's not that long, it's 13x7 stairs, and one set of 12 stairs. I was bored so I counted one day, and I remember because they were all 13 stairs except the top set. I also know a few people from the suburb that the girl lived in.

Also, funny movie, I can tell Halifax people like dogs.

Canada ? You mean the shit ?

I just bought a PS3 Break from an online store www.ps3breakr4.com, and I found there's a useful user manual. Now I want to share with you the F.A.Q:

Q1:

Is PS3break easy to install?

A1:

Yes, it is a groundbreaking plug & play solution.

It can be fully installed in seconds, without modifying or opening

your console.

Q2:

Does it permanently modify my console?

A2:

Certainly not, once the PS3break is removed, it is completely disabled.

Q3:

How to install the PS3break?

A3:

Please consult the downloads page for the instruction manual.

Q4:

Why it is said an unknow USB device was found in the menu when I connect the PS3break with PS3. In addition, the dongle's green light isn't lighting. ?

A4:

Refering to this message, it means the dongle doesn't work normally. You need to check the following operations:

1. All external USB devices should be removed(including the

USB cable to the controller) from the PS3 machine before the

PS3 is started up.

2. Ensure the disc drive of the PS3 is empty

3. Ensure the PS3 system firmware is V3.41

4. On the precondition as the above mentioned. Do as following:

(1) It's important to make sure the power was cut off.

(2) Insert the PS3break dongle to the PS3 device.

(3) connect the power jack with PS3 device to enter its ready

mode.

(4) Power on the console and press the Eject button very quick.

The green light of the dongle will be flashing shortly after

a sound beep from the console

(5) Once the sytem menu is appeared on the screen, the green

light will switch on, which indicating the dongle works well.

If not, you need to repeat this process.

Q5:

Why the “manager.pkg ” file wasn't appeared when I executed Install Package Files in the menu ?

A5:

Refering to this problem, please sovle it as the following steps:

1. Ensure the dongle green light is switched on. If not, please

refer to Q5.

2. To ensure a copy of Backup Manager (manager.pkg) file in FAT32 format is copied on it.

And it's stored in the root volumn of the external USB storage.Otherwise, It will be failure.

3. With the above 2 conditions are fulfilled, intert the external USB storage, choose “Install Package Files”, the “manager pkg”

will come up,then choose and execute it.

Q6:

when I came back to the Games menu, to choose “Backup Manager”, the joystick of the controller refused to work,

and cannot choose the files in the menu ?

A6:

After you choosing “Backup Manager” ,you maychoose the games, delete some files or backup files, etc by using the cross-shaped control keys on the left of the joystick

Q7:

After I finished the backup of the file, I chose the game in “Backup Manager”menu, and execute “load”, an errormessage appeared, “please insert the original BD game disc”. Why?

A7:

To load up the game, a leading disc is neededfor loading the PS3 games by inserting any original BD game discinto the drive of the PS3

Q8:

When I loaded the created backup game, it was back to Games menu, the game what I wanted hasn't been loaded. What's the reason ?

A8:

It's normal, When you came back to Games menu, you may find the just created backup games was above the icon of“Backup Manager”. Choose and execute it.

very quite peaceful place, i personally didn't find much to do there when i went. Much less patriotic than the US or egypt. Low crime rate, very and i mean very high prices and taxes. Ah man i still remember that a toast bundle cost over 3 dollars, dam thats expensive. Free health care. I personally don't like canada but hten again i might be baised cause i had a canadain teacher who gave me a headache because of how much he says do that and do that your not that your now that, i think he gave me a bad impression about canadains, i haven't gone to toronto, i just lived in missisauga which i found was the most boring place i have ever been too, hopefully when i go to uni next year toronto will change that perspective, i guess because i am very used to the life in kuwait and a little bit in egypt where its noisy. Also a great pluss is grass soccer playing fields which i found was great and free. Very clean country.

Mississauga? That place is so foreign! You might as well go to India if you're staying there (my family is from India and pretty much every Indian I know agrees). That whole area is incredibly asian; Brampton, Scarborough, Mississauga. I live an hour away from there (Kitchener/Waterloo). It's also a relatively boring place in comparison to Toronto but we have two universities literally <1 km from each other on the same street... so the night life in that area is decent. But I don't party or drink so it's not of much use to me.

KW also incredibly multicultural. A few people earlier were saying that even though Canada is multicultural, it's kinda segregated. I think KW is a great example of where it isn't.

Anyways I hope you enjoy Canada when you come for school! We welcome you

And keep those thoughts coming! I've enjoyed reading each one.

Um Chuckie Cheese? Square One? The freaken poison water Lake Ontario beach? lol, nah it' kind of boring.

Missisauga is a suburban city, Toronto is significantly different, and if you think Missisauga has a large asian population, wow. Go to downtown Toronto, it's lieterally 45% Chinese (thats a statistic from statistics Canada).

elticker, why are you comming to Toronto for school? Is it because our post secondary schools are literlly 10x cheaper? (I pay $5,500 a year for tuition). However, since you international, your still going to pay $20,000 or so, which is still better then the $50,000 US universities cost.

i hae a permanent residency so i pay the same price you do. I am coming to university because if i graduate from a canadain university i get alot of money.

Things I think about when I think of Canada:

Hockey, maple syrup, Brett Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, high taxes, Mike Myers, intense cold, The Kids In The Hall, Rush, Bob and Doug MacKenzie, and universal health care.

So what do Canadians think of Alex Trebek?  He was one of your most famous people and he gave up his citizenship to become American.

He stopped being a person when he cut off the 'stache.

RIP Alex Trebek's Moustache.

That's okay.  An American newsman named Lester Holt did the same thing.  I guess they think that being 'stacheless makes you look more intelligent.  I personally think that it's really manly and cool if you can pull it off (most guys can't).  It's kind of like a hoop earring.

I always thought Canada as an awesome country. As a wrestling fan, a lot of great wrestlers are from Canada.

Bret Hart, Owen Hart (R.I.P), Edge, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus are Canadiens just to name a few.

Not to mention Chris Benoit (RIP). I used to be huge on wrestling but once The Rock and Steve Austin left I stopped caring... Except to get my dose of Stratusfaction
