Definitively something from the first 3 games. I adored the first ones for the scares, even when they werent as atomosferic and disturbing as say, Silent Hill, they could really frighten the hell out of you.. I still remeber those dogs crashing through the window in RE1. And no matter how scared I was I had to keep playing. Looking back I think I was more afraid to put the controller down and walk into the dark back to my room in the middle of the night than the game's monsters. It could get that much into you.
Now, my only problem is that once I finish them I can't seem to play them again. Once you've gone through the game, know where the zombies come down to you, where is that precious ammo, when that big monster is going to appear, it ruins the experience for me. Part of the appeal is not only fear for the undead, but the fear of the unknown, not knowing what to expect from that next door.
But still, it's not like I was going to play them again anyway. I like to treasure them as a one play experience.
One of the best gaming series surely.
