It's funny. DS is selling through the roof but I haven't bought a DS game since Phantom Hourglass and before that Pokemon Diamond.

I use to play my DS every single day without fail but now all I use it for is an alarm so I can get up for school (Did you know DS had an alarm?). There haven't been any really interesting games for DS recently.

DS is its what? Third year now? Game Boy Advance, I recall, had plenty of great games in Fall of 2004. I remember Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls and Pokemon LeafGreen with Zelda: Minish Cap on the way for Early 2005. Is the DS waning?

That's how you categorize it, and that's fine. My way is a little more simple:

PS2 = video game toy

PS3 = video game toy

DS = video game toy

Wii = video game toy

Xbox 360 = video game toy 

They're all toys for playing with, and therefore they compete to one degree or another. The DS is very likely going to be the most successful handheld console of all time, if you want to make a distinction between the profitability of hand held and home consoles. Using the same distinction, the Wii is likely to be the most profitable home console of all time.

I don't know which will be the most profitable console of all time, though. Perhaps the Wii.

 Tales of Innocence, the new FF game, Advance Wars II, Dragon Quest IX, the two DQ remakes, the Fire Emblem game, new Harvest Moon, possibly KH 358/2, Sonic RPG, maybe Super Dodgeball, maybe Viva Pinata DS.

 I think thats about it. A better haul than this year.

I've own my DSL for a year and I didn't know about the alarm. I don't read manuals and only go directly to load game instead of messing around with the other options, that's probably why.

I also hardly ever turn the DS off, just flip open and continue playing.

Good to know about the alarm though, might comes in useful when my other 2 alarm clocks simultaneously break.

There are now 3 DS Lites in my house. A red/black version is the recent addition as christmas gift.

My cousin also receive a white DS Lite for Christmas and their family is very much a Sony domain...

In the UK they're still around £100 ($200+). I won an iPod nano just before Christmas and am selling that for £100 so I'll probably finally be able to buy a DS

I predict about 2.046 million this week.

If the rumored redesign is really comming , than next year sales could be even higher :o
