I am going with choice #2 and predict PSP to sell 73 Million lifetime.

doesn't look like it will top 80M, approx 73M for sure.

you think psp will only sell 5 million more lifetime? after shipment data comes in psp should be at >67 million.

it will reach 73 million at the end of 2011. by 2014 it will have 85 million.

i predict nearly 90 million lifetime. and thats not even counting psphone.

It will get steamrolled by PSP2 and 3DS thouhg, it may sell so bad that sony will discontinue it.

I believe sony will discontinue support soon after psp2 comes out because non Japanese oriented games simply do not sell on it anymore. Piracy killed the system and sony has little interest in keeping it alive considering the terrible software sales.  This year I think it will sell 6.5mil. Next year 2mil, and then discontinued or insignificant sales. I think it will end up at around 75-77mil if it doesn't outright stop selling when the next gen portables come out. 90mil is a pretty ridiculous prediction considering in the past 2 years it sold 19mil. You expect it to sell 20 mil in the next 3 years with such steady declines, and these declines are before the next gen portables are even out.

This is not counting the playstation phone.

Looks like almost 80 million to me.

Well the PSP hasn't had a price cut in something like four years now.  With the 3DS and PSP2 launching at pretty high prices, they can probably find a market for a $99 PSP.

well 90 million may be a bit a a stretch, but i didnt say i would do it in 3 years, i said life time and sonys systems last more than 10 years so you can do the math.

it will probably get >87 million. it will get i nice price cut soon with psp2,

also psp is still very strong in japan and is doing fine in europe. if psphone is a psp 1 then it will get well over 100 million.

i have i pspgo, and those sold like crap. so im hoping that in many years a pspgo will be so rare that it will be worth a lot of money, now wouldnt that be something.

psp go is a really good product, i just wish they didnt launch it at 250, it should have been 180-200. because im pretty sure it is cheaper to make than psp 3000

I think PSP has less then a year left on store shelves. Over the past few years PSP shelf space has declined steadily and sales aren't that great. I think that once 3DS launches many stores will drop PSP altogether while the remaining stores will drop it as soon as NGP launches.

I think between now and then 5-million units is reasonable. When retailers clearout the PSP at liquidation prices it will sell its last few million units. It could break 70-mill but I doubt it.
