Forums - Nintendo - 3DS to use friend codes

I don't mind if it is universal.

Anything else will suck balls.

it better be not 12 digit long, 4 digit will be fine

Nintendo needs something like the other online services ,how about Ninternet ? or "Tag" or something and then add a mascot to it and then its WIN WIN!

If you expect them to sell less than 10,000 3DSes, maybe.

@rolstoppable  then people wonder why some "hardcore gamers" are not to enthusided about Ninty in general

Throwing in letters would a solution, like AK47.

Even with lower and upper case letters with numbers, that's 62 different characters. 62x62x62x62 = 14,776,336 combinations. That's not going to be nearly enough. You could do non-case senstive letters numbers to the 6th power and get 2 billion combinations. =P

Issue with letters is probably different languages use different characters. Wonder if that's why Tri is region locked since it's ID codes used letters?

Hopefully when the Western launch details are released it will re-excite my interest to preorder.

Nintendo should be smart and hire proper networking experts to create a better online experience. I really hope that local MP with most games will be lagless and without gay friend codes.

Fail again nintendo... wtf is wrong with them... still i hope its universal.. didnt they realize with the wii that people hates friend codes...

To a point, no, they have not. Where's the proof that Wii's horrid internet has held it back? As i said before, when you've got a lot of Wii games with no online at all selling through the roof, Nintendo hasn't been shown a need to really get on board
