I believe most that were interested in it played it already on the PC

not necessarily, not everyone has a gaming pc

Which is why I said most ;). And you really don't need a very powerful computer to run it.

alright ill let you have this one due to the fact that i dont know what power the computer has to be at. The most demanding games on my pc are crysis and sims3 (install it then mock -.- )

This isn't a KZ3 vs Gears 3 thread or a Forza vs GT5 thread.

It doesn't change the fact that KZ3's pre-orders at this point are pretty poor.  Especially considering this is for America the country that buys the most FPS's.  I'm beyond stoked for the game but that doesn't change the fact it doesn't look very impressive sales wise so far.

KZ3 pre orders are not poor. Not many people believed that it would have a much higher opening than KZ2. (I for one that it would be similar). Games typically don't have high FW's unless it's predecessor was a really high seller (which KZ2 was not).

KZ3 can still sell really great though in the long run with extremely positive word of mouth and reception. Look at Red Dead Redemption which had a FW of around 800k (PS3) and looks to sell around 5 million (PS3)

And KZ2's sales were pretty equal across America and EMEAA.

KZ3 pre-orders are poor though.  Especially considering the MASSIVE budget that the Killzone series has had so far.  KZ2 only sold 2.5 million copies which to be honest was a huge dissapointment, Sony certainly expected better than that.  And KZ3 might even underperform the second game which would be horrible.

For a big marque exclusive game Killzone's sales are poor even when compared to other PS3 exclusive games.  KZ2 was outsold by Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, both Uncharteds , LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, Motorstorm, and God of War 3.

In essence if KZ3 doesn't significantly outsell the second game I don't know how much support a 4th game in the franchise would recieve. I'm thinking the game has to sell at least 3 million to be seen as a true success given the budget of the franchise and the highly competitve FPS market.

LOL?a lot of 360 hyped exclusive sold less than that and you guys are happy with its sales why does KZ2 selling 2.5m all of a sudden disappointing? conviction and ME for example.

tell me people, when the fuck a ps3 game was frontloaded in pre-orders? Uncharted 2 didn't have more than 300k pre-orders, yet it sold 4M already. THE GAME WILL BE FINE, and i'm coming back to this thread just to have some crow eating for those who said that Kz3 will not outsell Kz2...

right here, right now, i'll say, Killzone 3 will sell at least 3M.

Wow at Gears 3 it actually had more pre orders than Killzone 3 considering it's almost a year  away that is pretty impressive. Killzone 3 doesn't seems to be doing too well seems like my prediction might come true it probably wont outsell Killzone 2 unless they heavily bundle it.

Also surprised how low the pre orders for Bulletstorm are at least for the Xbox 360 version I would have thought that the Gears 3 beta would have helped it but it doesn't seem to be doing too much for it. Good to see Mortal Kombat finally on the list and little big planet seems like it will debut pretty big.

This is PS3's weakest market. I wouldn't worry about it though. This game will sell at least 1.5 million in America alone. EMEAA will likely be 1.5 - 2 million.

These are LTD numbers from me.

Oh and Japan? Maybe....MAYBE 250k.

you do know that americas is killzones best land right. so emeaa shouldnt be better than americas. and killzone 2 did 80k in japan so you expect it to more than triple there.

guys stop being in denial. its obvious that KZ3's preorders are dreadful. it looks like it wont even hit 150k preorders wich would be around 200-250k first week in americas. and usally sequals are frontloaded(KZ2 was first one on ps3) so expecting the game to do more than 3.5 million is illogical.

I wouldn't say that. In the same time period ( 7 weeks to go ) UC2 had 35,000 - 45,000 pre - orders. It ended up with 300,000 pre - orders and opened up with 450,000.  If it was 2 - 3 weeks away, then it would be time to start worrying. But 7 weeks is plently of time to gain pre - orders !

I don't think that it will break 150K pre orders before it's released, if it does it will be by a margin of about ~10k. The sales will be comparably lacksture but the EMEAA region will make up for the lack of enthusiasm in the Americas and push this game above the KZ2 sales for sure. I think it'll settle at around 3.5-3.7 lifetime, you got to remember, 2011 is crampled the exclusives on PS3 and KZ3 is likely to fly under the radar with mot or most will just wait for it to drop in price. I don't think the opening week will be anything special, somewhere in the region of ~800k-1m, still good but not absolutely PMG BBQ numbers.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Lol what ? Resistance 2 sold less copies then the original Resistance and Sony is still releasing a new one this year... Motorstorm sold less copies then the original one and Sony is still releasing another game this year. Like I said before Killzone 3 sales might pick up soon we don't know.

People tend to forget Sony has a LOT of exclusive titles on the PS3. Not everybody can afford to purchase all of them at 1 particular time. It has 7 weeks left so we will just wait and see what happens. Even if it sells less then Killzone 2, I'm very confident Sony will release a 4th one. Besides Killzone 2 sold more copies then the original game.

Those who know nothing can understand nothing.

Legs depend on the quality of the game. The ones that are too much frontloaded are just bad games with a big marketing. In most cases.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Also Mass Effect 2 on PS3 may well be flop of the year.  I'm usually all for multiplats but Mass Effect appears to have been a bad choice to port.

Well, it's always a bad choice to port a game and release it one year later on another platform. Mass Effect 2 will be in a similar situation as Bioshock, I guess. Possibly very low sales at launch, then picking up steam a little when it's cheaper. I wouldn't expect any wonders though.

If I didn't have it already on 360, I would buy it day one on PS3. But I'll probably also get it on PS3 when its' price goes down.

Yeah I agree the late port was an awful idea and if anything it should have been launched on both systems at the same time.

But you would think more PS3 only owners would want to know what all the hype was about plus it comes with all the DLC already on disc which is great.  Mass Effect is an amazing franchise and it deserves way higher sales than the epic flop it appears its going to be.

ME2 will sell well on the PS3, just not as much as the PC/360. EA games always manage to sell well on the PS3, especially in EMEAA.
