This is the most surprising number in my opinion.

Around the Network

DS: Amazing, it deserves to be the #1 selling videogame console of all time. With a price drop once the3DS comes out, it should keep selling good.

Wii: Almost 20 million despite everything... pretty good. A price drop this year would suffice.

PS3: Uffffff barely outsold the X360. Good numbers, but I thought it was gonna be a lil bit higher...

X360: Thanks to kinect and a 2nd awesome breath in Americas, is really close to the ps3 and it doesnt seem to stop anytime soon

PSP: Mmmmmm at least japan adores this console... pretty low.

PS2: ...Wow... 4 millions in it's 10th (?) year.... amazing

4 mil ps2 sales??? well there like less then 100 bucks now...mabye it would help sony more if they just shutdown ps2 and made ps3 backwards compadible via system update....give that extra kick to sell some ps3s

what yous think?

Why? MEAA is a huge PSP market. or is it because it's low?

I'm shocked that PS3 was ahead of 360 after this holiday season. I thought Kinect bundles would push it slightly above PS3, even with the PS3 lead earlier in the year. Wii still going strong and PS2 still somehow managing 4 million in its 10th year is extraordinary.

Good stuff.

Amazing year for all systems.  I think that the PS3 is going to have another similar year in 2011, and the Wii will drop a little further and the 360 will go up another million or 2 in sales.

Wii will be 18 Mill

360 at 17 million

PS3 at 15 million

for 2011.

I'm surprised that it still sells that good in EMEAA.

It's mostly because of the Middle East and Asia, Sony always dominated that part of the world, even the PS2 outsold the Wii, DS, and X360 there.

Middle East, Africa & Asia Hardware

Not a chance that'll happen, Sony's going to make as much money off the PS2 library as possible (hence all the collectors editions coming out  of old PS2 games on the PS3 (God of War, Sly, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider)). So cleary there going to keep going down that road for big franchises on the PS2. Then all the other games will be put on the PSN and will be ran on an emulator on the PS3, mark my words.

Wasnt this year PS3domination should be completed..

Well good all. 360 just amazing and kinect was a real succes.
