I will mention it to Machina and see if we can figure something out in that vein, but for the moment assume no and I'll get back to this thread. My main issue with the idea would be that a Roast is great because you know that the person taking the heat can take a joke since they volunteered for it, and the persons making the jokes don't mean it in a hurtful way but usually are friends with the person being insulted.

The only versions of a roast thread I could imagine working would be one about a specific person who volunteered to be the target, or roasting the consoles/videogames of 2010 for a certain amount of time in which the rules would be one line jokes were allowed and people were not allowed to argue for or against any joke. Basically if you don't have a joke to post all you can do is read the thread. And the thread would be locked after a week or so. I will talk these possibilities over with Machina if nothing else because I think it would be an interesting experiment to see what the community would do with it..

This is pretty close. All threads are subject to the forum rules; a roast typically would not adhere to them. There is no attacking of other users, even with their consent, because we all know SOMEONE would cross a line somewhere, be it by bringing in a user who doesn't want to be, others see the flaming of systems, etc, and it's not the message we want to send to new users.
